Kei_ayanami
Hi guys does anyone here have any experience regarding weight reduction on the 25gt four version? How much weight can the car lose? is it possible to lose around 100-200kg ? instead of chasing hp gain and wasting a crap load of money wouldn't it not be better if i just remove useless crap off the car and give it a better power to weight ratio. could you guys list me down what can be removed and how much kg roughly they are. The only things I can think off is the following things not sure how many kg each item is as well.. back seats ? spare tire ? sound deadening ? air con ? what else can be removed that will still keep the car street legal? V28VX37
Back on topic, some GTT weight reduction estimates from here: http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/21-tuning-technical-questions/172043-r34-gtt-weight-reduction-loss.html 5kg Sound Deadening 5kg carpets 20kg race seats (providing you remove front & back, all the seat belts and tensioners then replace them with light side mount rails and fibre/Kevlar shell. 20kg air con gubbins including the matrix behind the dash 7kg sound system – 4 speakers, sterio, amp boxes etc 7kg Hicas removal. Providing you just swap it out for a locking collar 15kg light weight exhaust. Yep, probably – if you lose all the silencers, cat etc 8kg coilovers – depending on what you get, you’ll probably lose 2kg a corner. You can also lose weight through - Bonnet - Boot lid - Wings - Wheels & tyres - Doors - Strip down the loom - Bumper braces - Headlights (if it’s just a daytime track car, you don’t need them) - Glass (replace with Lexan for the rear ¼, side and rear window, - Cast manifold for tubular (will save you a bit) - Replace electronic wing mirrors with static - Remove electric window motors Remember you need to fit a cage which will put weight BACK INTO the car, as will corner weighting. 2 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/460692-weight-reduction-25gt-four-powerweight-ratio/#findComment-7629908 Share on other sites
