Hi Guys

First time poster, long time stalker of the forum(always looking for a skyline), a while ago i was on the Japan classified sites and found this reasonably priced R34 https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.global-auto.ne.jp%2Fstock%2Fpublic_stock_detail.php%3Fentry%3D0315.dat%26model%3DBNR34&sandbox=1

I went on gumtree this morning 03:00(night shift, i get bored a lot )and found this, I chuckled a bit, swore a little, and was thinking of offering him 40k haha http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/guildford/cars-vans-utes/nissan-skyline-r34-v-spec-1999-real-collection-condition-/1081528681

Its exactly the same, photos and all, only thing is the one in OZ has 40,000kms less.

Just wanted to give everybody a heads up.

Ill save the ad and images in case they remove it.

Cheers guys

Yes motor appears different, missing S1 valley cover & plaque on front of motor. Has gained a nismo oil cap. Also missing R tune air intake & carbon radiator cooling panel. Coilovers have also been changed. Very shifty...

The car doesn't exist in Australia - i already reported the ad to Gumtree months ago but they have done nothing about it. The dealer in Sydney told me he sold it the night before I went up to his 'showroom'.

He has another in there to sell - which is an awful example, and uses this one as bait.

I originally inquired about this one at Global Auto in Japan, but it was accident damaged and also not that clean once i had an inspection done.

It's such a shame the 'dealers' are ruining the scene - always stick with an import specialist i say!

Enquiry: Hi Rxx,

I'm interested in your "Nissan Skyline R34 V-spec 1999 (Real..." on Gumtree.

I've noticed that your pictures are similar if not the same to that as seen on http://www.global-auto.ne.jp/stock/public_stock_detail.php?entry=0315.dat&model=BNR34

The only noticable difference i can see is the engine and kilometres.

However, in the description, you've stated "NISMO S1 specified (BNR34 genuine turbine)"

My question is, as you haven't stated pictures are for illustration purposes only, is this the same car minus the engine. If so, why are your advertised kilometres lower?

Do you have the de-registration and importation paperwork available?

Many Thanks

Allowing import car yards to also act as compliance shops is what has farked the import market and pricing in Australia over the last 10 years.

This is still very much the case.

And the yards are so arrogant and cheeky - they don't seem to care - making $ is the goal.

Recent example here in Perth - import car yard / compliance shop in Perth northern suburbs (Wangara) - been around long time (wont name).

Advertised a Supra - was moonstone grey, RZ, later model from memory etc. They advertised it as immaculate, low km, etc. Was on Gumtree, etc.

From memory was advertised for 27k - 29k. Now immediately I know some things up. I couldn't buy a genuine low km late model RZ for that in Japan - let alone add the compliance, shipping etc.

Long story short - guy buys it, jumps on Supra forum excited about his new car - gets some advice/opinions and off he goes to get a service.

Up on the hoist - they find chassis rails bent / damaged, panels and underneath covers riveted to bumper / chassis, etc .... basically it was a abortion - damaged repaired.

Forum guys found auction sheets showing it as a "R" vehicle .... you know the rest.

He took the car back - argued a while over the car - but they returned his money on the provision that he didn't tell anyone! Low and behold few weeks later same car back up for sale.

Import your own car - do your research and affiliate yourself with the right people - will always be a better outcome.......

Just my opinion

Dan

These places need to be shut down. I guess if we keep finding ads like these, keep posting it and hassle the dealers. Eventually they're not going to have anywhere to hide and they will be screwed. Just like everyone else they've screwed.

Dan that's a pretty brutal story. Lucky they took it back. But then again some people don't have that chance and it's too late to do anything about it.

About MX5's, the smart money is on the NC, specifically the NC2 if your budget goes that far, and with MX5 pricing that's pretty much where they go. Occasionally you see them pop up with tasteful mods like suspension and such, but the NC2 is the quiet sleeper of the range in terms of overall goodness.
    • The housing it self made minimum differences, while the exhaust manifold made a difference. 6 Boost T3 divided will do fine. ATR43SS3ProR model in T3 .82 rear (TS optional) from March 25th will be more then capable of 450whp with excellent response.
