An interesting event has come up via Honda Car Club - on 30/11 - 1/12 there is a hillclimb at Bathurst.

Mount Panorama (The Esses)

4km from Bathurst

run by Bathurst Light Car Club

Record: 22.68 secs - Peter Gumley (SCV) - 13th February 2000

Start is on Mountain Straight and finish at McPhillamy Park.

This is a one-car at a time, timed event up the hill. You can still crash, but it won't be because someone else hit you.....

What you need:

1. CAMS L2S or higher license - you only need to join a club to qualify for this

2. non-flammable long pants, long sleeves, & shoes.

3. helmet

What the car needs:

1. secondary bonnet tie down, eg belt

2. blue triangle located on the bodywork above where the battery lives, eg blue electrical tape

4. fire extinguisher. Should be securely mounted within reach of the driver.

Kelly and I will be going up there for the weekend, anyone else interesting in competing/watching?

The supplementary Regulations are here on the Bathurst light car club site: http://www.blcc.com.au/November.htm#speedweek

Richard Colley at HCC is our contact 0410 664 140, I'm going to try and sign up myself in the next few days.

Do you have a fire extinguisher or any suggestion on who to speak to to get hold of one?

oh god yes! how much fun would it be having a fang around bathurst!!

but due to having a stockers car, crap tyres, brake pads that are due to be replaced, no helmet, no fire extinguisher, and no CAMS L2S licence...I'll have to say no :D

oh, and i've never raced my car anywhere before and would look like a slow-arsed idiot  there's another reason :P

According to the regs, there's no closing date for entries.

And Shell, the only hard bit is the extinguisher - Kelly and I are both doing our first hillclimb here. (and our car's stock too). None of the skylines will be the fastest, hillclimbs are pretty open in classes, and some crazy open wheeler ex-f1 car will be a long way ahead of us.

Just going to have fun, and the chance to race at Oz's best track.

For those who don't mind going fast, there's also a timed sprint down conrod straight on the Saturday. Hope the speed limiter is gone:crazy:

Any estimates for speed before braking for the chase?

C'mon all, we need more than 2 skylines to take on the crowd at Bathurst.  Anyone else interested?

I am very interested Duncan, however my employer is also interested in me being at work then. :D

Maybe next time...:uh-huh:

I already have my license, but Kelly is hunting one down now, I think she's going to join Honda Car Club - I have their details if you like.

I think entries are closing this week, so you'll need to be quick!

Fatz, Kel and myself are going so far.

Well, despite a few skyline drop outs (looks darkly at Kelly and Pete), it was a great weekend at the mountain.

I came second in my class (lightly modified over 3L) behind a big hp senator in both the hillclimb and the sprint. Apparently that bloke could steer a bit too, he's an ex-group A racer so its not as embarasing as it could be to be beaten by a commodore.

And there's always next year:D

Red, they're at the top of the page, just wave your mouse over them. Not too exciting though.

Silver-Arrowz, its at least an annual event, so I'll try and rustle up a bigger crowd next time. Top fun!

    • Agreed, I've never seen a 260RS specific manual. As GTSBoy said it will mostly be stagea other than the engine loom https://www.hgeconsulting.com.au/stageaservicemanual.pdf
    • You'lll likely have to make do with R33 GTR for engine/tranny stuff, and Stagea for the body. I don't know that there's even been an actual diagram seen in the wild.
    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
