OK, started 3weeks ago when my friend had her baby, no that sounds good but it all went done hill from there....

MONDAY: i was driving past calvry hosipital on my way to work(Manuka if u didn't know) and a guy runs out in front of my car (I was driving the sprinter) he then darts into the next lane and get's collected by a nice 2003 model 318i BMW, seen i have done my first aid and also the first person on scene i offer my assistence to the collected person, he was alive, just, and moaning about why he haddn't died, i asked him what he had just done, why, who he was, the usal to try and keep him alive, and he just told me that life sucked and he wanted to kill himself! few min's later ambo arrive with 2 cop cars, answered all questions, continued to work 2hours late. stayed at work till home time (5am) and went home to bed, the next few days where univentfull (thank god) as i was alittle shaken up.

FRIDAY: my friend danny writes off his sisters non-turbo R33. wasn't paying attention and ran up the back of a VT commy wagon

SATURDAY: My friend who had the baby send me an SMS stating that her baby died at 13:30hrs due to lack of oxygen to the brain and that the SIDS team will be investigating everything that happend in the last week.

SUNDAY: while at work i found that ANOTHER friend had 3 teeth knocked out while he was at work (he's a cheif) and now has braces

NEXT: friday i find that the skyline need's a new raidatior as this one has a blow top tank seal, car comes off road, start driving sprinter again.

SUNDAY: i drive to work fine, cold but fine (sprinter has no heater) i finish work at 5am and walk down to my car to find that somebody elso thought that all my nice stereo gear would look better in there car than mine and stole it all, JVC deck, s12 alpine sub in box and an F1 amp. plus all my CD's (bout 200 or so)

SO hear i sit at 6.20am about to break down into a pile of dust.

question

by cheif do mean chef or do u mean correctional officer..........?

kinda weird if hes a chef but if hes a CO then its kinda understandable and a down side of the job that we face.

sorry to hear about your bad run of luck there sprinter boy, theres a light at the end of the tunnel bud u just have to find it.

hey mate, really sorry to hear that!!! life just gets like that sometimes hey? why dont you come out with us on saturday night and relax, knock back a few cold ones and just chill for the evening? it'd do you the world of good.

where abouts was your car when ur audio gear got flogged? i take it you dont have an alarm?

but keep your head up and push on, the darkest time of night is just b4 the dawn.

Thank you guys, it's nice to know i have people i can talk to when shit hits the fan seeing i've had so much bad luck of late my friend tells me i'n in for some good Karma and i should go by a LOTTO ticket.

I think i'll be out on saturday, where u guy planning on going? but first i need to fix one of my cars so i can drive around without A. cooking the skyline or B. having smothing else stolen from my car(no that there is anything left)

CS_180 yea sorry he's a cook, i'm not the world best speller.

Blu print- u smoke alot of cigarettes, u go for long drives and try to not think to much, u drink a few, and then u go home and have a cry. thats how u cope, u wake up and say hay! i made it, now, what elae can go wrong? nothing, beaut, off to work.

check out the post in the events section, there are a fair few of us going to APK in woden at 8 on saturday night for dinner etc..

if your within cooee of my place i'm more than happy to be ur ride, u obviously need a good night out so whatever i/we can do to help.

what suburb r u in?

That's no good mate but sadly life is like that. Just as the others said, don't lose hope that things will get better. They have a way of working out even when you don't expect it.

Anyways, good luck! and buy that Lotto ticket!

aww you poor thing

that's a heap of stuff to happen to one person!!

hope your friend who lost her baby is getting thru things ok - and by that i realise it will never be "ok", but i hope she realises that there's places she can turn for support and help. And if she wants to talk to you, don't feel like you have to be her counseller, just listen. It might be all she needs, a friend to listen while she lets out emotions.

anyway, we're all here if you need us..and yeah definately get a lotto ticket cos with all that bad news you're in for a few years of good stuff now :)

Justin, hang in there buddy.

You've helped somebody, been there for your friends losses and the cars can be fixed.

Losing a baby is a terrible thing, but everything else can be turned into a positive. We should be thankful for having such an upstanding forum member. If we thought things were a bit down in our lives, well you've shared something with us that says "hey, it could be worse, but it isn't the end either".

You've got lemons a'plenty mate, so maybe Shell can help with some tequila. Take care.

Veilside R33- I'm in mckellar (belconnen) i was out on saturday, got pissed, had some fun, the skyline only cost $170 to fix as i did most of the work myself, but i highly recomend Renner radiators in fyshwick, they did a great job and it was 24hr turn around.

There is a new look on the sprinter now, and i have the security tape at home, i can see the little ****'s busting into my car good, just need to get the plate now and heads will roll.

Last, i'm going to wakefield NEXT MONDAY (9th) anybody wanna come?

And thankyou for all your help everybody, i will have to meet u all soon, we should do a beer 0'clock one day so everybody can come see, have a few drinks, maybe take away food or something?

    • Update 3: Hi all It's been a while. Quite a lot of things happened in the meantime, among other things the car is (almost) back together and ready to be started again. Things that I fixed or changed: Full turbo removal, fitting back the OEM turbo oil hardlines. Had to do quite a bit of research and parts shopping to get every last piece that I need and make it work with the GT2860 turbos, but it does work and is not hard to do. Proves that the previous owner(s) just did not want to. While I was there I set the preload for the wastegates to 0,9bar to hopefully make it easier for the tuner to hit the 370hp I need for the legal inspections that will follow later on. Boost can always go up if necessary. Fitted a AN10 line from the catch can to the intake hose to make the catchcan and hopefully the cam covers a slight vacuum to have less restrictive oil returns from the head and not have mud build up as harshly in the lines and catch can. Removed the entire front interior just shy of the dashboard itself to clean up some of the absolutely horrendous wiring, (hopefully) fix the bumpy tacho and put in LED bulbs while I was there. Also put in bulbs where there was none before, like the airbag one. I also used that chance to remove the LED rpm gauge on the steering column, which was also wired in absolute horror show fashion. Moved the 4in1 Prosport gauge from sitting in front of the OEM oil pressure gauge to the center console vents, I used a 3D printed vent piece to hold that gauge there. The HKB steering wheel boss was likely on incorrectly as I sometimes noticed the indicator reset being uneven for left vs. right. In the meantime also installed an airbag delete resistor, as one should. Installed Cube Speed premium short shifter. Feels pretty nice, hope it'll work great too when I actually get to drive. Also put on a fancy Dragon Ball shift knob, cause why not. My buddy was kind enough to weld the rust hole in the back, it was basically rusted through in the lowermost corner of the passenger side trunk area where the wheel arch, trunk panel and rear quarter all meet. Obviously there is still a lot of crustiness in various areas but as long as it's not rusted out I'll just treat and isolate the corrosion and pretend it's not there. Also had to put down a new ground wire for the rear subframe as the original one was BARELY there. Probably a bit controversial depending on who you ask about this... but I ended up just covering the crack in the side of the engine block, the one above the oil feed, with JB Weld. I used a generous amount and roughed up the whole area with a Dremel before, so I hope this will hold the coolant where it should be for the foreseeable future. Did a cam cover gasket job as the half moons were a bit leaky, and there too one could see the people who worked on this car before me were absolute tools. The same half moons were probably used like 3 times without even cleaning the old RTV off. Dremeled out the inside of the flange where the turbine housing mates onto the exhaust manifolds so the diameter matches, as the OEM exhaust manifolds are even narrower than the turbine housings as we all know. Even if this doesn't do much, I had them out anyways, so can't harm. Ideally one would port-match both the turbo and the manifold to the gasket size but I really didn't feel up to disassembling the turbine housings. Wrapped turbo outlet dumps in heat wrap band. Will do the frontpipe again as well as now the oil leak which promted me to tear apart half the engine in the first place is hopefully fixed. Fitted an ATI super damper to get rid of the worn old harmonic balancer. Surely one of the easiest and most worth to do mods. But torquing that ARP bolt to spec was a bitch without being able to lock the flywheel. Did some minor adjustments in the ECU tables to change some things I didn't like, like the launch control that was ALWAYS active. Treated rusty spots and surface corrosion on places I could get to and on many spots under the car, not pretty or ideal but good enough for now. Removed the N1 rear spats and the carbon surrounding for the tailpipe to put them back on with new adhesive as the old one was lifting in many spots, not pretty. Took out the passenger rear lamp housing... what do you know. Amateur work screwed me again here as they were glued in hard and removing it took a lot of force, so I broke one of the housing bolts off. And when removing the adhesive from the chassis the paint came right off too. Thankfully all the damaged area won't be visible later, but whoever did the very limited bodywork on this car needs to have their limbs chopped off piece by piece.   Quite a list if I do say so myself, but a lot of time was spent just discovering new shit that is wrong with the car and finding a solution or parts to fix it. My last problem that I now have the headache of dealing with is that the exhaust studs on the turbo outlets are M10x1.25 threaded, but the previous owner already put on regular M10 nuts so the threads are... weird. I only found this out the hard way. So now I will just try if I can in any way fit the front pipe regardless, if not I'll have to redo the studs with the turbos installed. Lesson learned for the future: Redo ALL studs you put your hands on, especially if they are old and the previous owners were inept maniacs. Thanks for reading if you did, will update when the engine runs again. Hope nothing breaks or leaks and I can do a test drive.
    • No those pads are DBA too  but they have colors too. I look at the and imo the green "street" are the best.
    • I’m not sure what happened I told them about sonic tunes free OTS tune and the next the I know .. I was booted..   To funny
    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
