Need a little help in the states with an r32!!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys so I need a bit of help.

i read a thread on here about a shop called MV Autos over there in Australia that does a pretty awesome modification to the automatic trans in the r32's.

Seemingly, it requires the car to be shifted manually and there is a shifter kit to go along with this?

any info would be great!! Please and thank you!

i reached out to MV auto but no response. Are they the only shop that does this?

I have a specific reason for wanting this vs a manual gearbox

she arrives stateside this Friday and I'm dying to get going right away with the modifications.

I know nothing about MV Auto, but if you contacted them this week I would say they just want to get to wrap up the year and get off to Christmas. Give them a go in the new year, and if you can, call rather than e-mail/internet

Tranny needs to spend time in their workshop in order to benefit.  It's not just "remove original valve body" and "plug in magic valve body".

I figured as much. I'm honestly trying to find out if they can build one and send it out. Or, being I work in a shop in the states, send the parts and we can manage to do the modifications.

Whats entailed if you know?

The usual stuff done to toughen an auto gearbag.  Better clutches and such, changes to the valvebody.

You could probably ask them to source you one from a local wrecker and doctor it then send to you.  It's gunna cost you some extra coins for their effort, but probably worth it to not have to try to source one yourself by remote.  Don't just e-mail them either.  Call them in the new year, (say after the 8th) in their morning - which would likely be early evening for you if you're on the east coast, or late afternoon if you're further west.  Indicate that you sent them an e-mail on the subject and that you're fairly serious.  You'll get ignored less than the usual "random e-mail from dream on other side of world" treatment I'm sure they've learned.
