LOL... i was going to say come down and have a punt around the track in my car, then i read +300awkws, you wont be interested in driving my old bus ;)

And after seeing how far Winton is from Melb then i wouldnt be surprised if it isnt all that busy, except for the fellas from Albury :D

Don't listen to Snowman, the car has a stock donk, its not 300awkw but yeah i've now got semis, prob be half farked by the time I get to winton though. As i said in another thread i'm keen to check out this bus of yours, i'm only new to the r, came out of an early commo with decent power at the rears and some good stoppers so can appreciate the power on oversteer.

The fellas in Albury were whom i was referring to earlier. ;)

Yeah its not back yet - but I'm thinking surely this time it has to be ok.

Btw - troy - Ben can steer. I'd be happy to let him behind the wheel of my car. Went karting with him and was forced to wave as he disappeared off into the distance!

Also saw him pass a landcruiser on a cruise once (through the haze of Ash's smoke!) in a great move! haha.

...cool good to see someone that can drive have a go in my car....

Ben...do you own an R32 or R33, i hope its a 32 becuase it will be interesting to hear your thoghts after a back to back drive....and im not expecting you to walk away saying the GTST is better, no way on earth. I would hope that you would walk away thinking that there is more to be said about the state of modifications to the car, then the base car you started with...make sense?!?!?!?!

Sadly i wont have time to get my susp settings changed to those i use for the track and secondly, they may not have enough time to tune the car properly so may have to be a very conservative WOT tune, so driveability may not be all that great...bu toh well its been toolong since i have driven the car in anger

Na, sorry mate, i've got the ugly duckling / whale (33).

Thanks for the offer :( but I don't like driving other peoples cars, something always seems to wrong when i'm at the friggin wheel!

Going by what i've read so far fine tuning suspension etc isn't gong to be to much of an issue - its more a 8/10 's fun day isn't it?

All this chat is getting me excited. Given the distance, is anyone keen to go up Sat arvo, stay in a seedy motel in Benalla and drink some piss Sat night?

Sounds like half a plan...will see how i go with work on Saturday...and the only reason i like to get the alignment done is i once blistered a set of brand new front D01Js as i wasnt running enough camber...so if im only running 1.5 deg for day to day drivinh, then i will only do 3 or 4 laps at a time as i cant afford to waste another set of tyres by blistering them :(

Im waiting to hear from mechanics tomorrow lunch time to see where my car it at.

Mate - I'll have to let you know. Sounds good but I may get divorced if I try and do that considering I've just come back from a weekend up there and next weekend Im back there for 3 nights with the Dutton! LOL

Snowman, you need to throw her the keys to the WRX and get her involved.... i need to believe in every wife there is a hoon dieing to get out... :burnout: otherwise i may never find love :inlove:

Matt - don't be weak.

My suggestion is this - we meet at the macca's just before the start of the hume at 7:00am. Sound good to everyone?

Just called to confirm a few things. It is $20. The sessions are split between drivers only and passengers.

Basically the point of the day is for people to have a chance to take their family out and show them what being on a track is like. In the passenger sessions you MUST have a passenger - during this time it is go easy.

The driver only session you can go hard! $20 is awesome!

Well the car looks liek she will be ready, though rego may be a stickign poitn as while it has sat idle in the workshop rego has lapsed....LOL, anyone have trade plates.

I will know by COB today if the rego thing has been sorted.... just need a roadworthy faxed to the NSW RTA

lol Andrew... I'm not being weak, I just dont fancy driving on a washed out track. If I go I'll see you at the proposed meet point 0700

BTW, the fun starts at 9am - are you suggesting it will only take us 2hr's to arrive there? :D

:(

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
