Well after a Engine Rebuild, a front ender all in the past 6 months .... i come out of work today to find that some kind person probly looking for money for their next hit has smashed my drivers side window in and taken my radar detector. Luckily thats all they took as i kinda had a premonition this morning when i pulled into my usual spot right in front of the entrance doors to work that something like this was going to happen so i gathered up all my CD's that are usually strewn over my backseat and my CD player face and locked them in my glove box .... lucky i did!

All my go fast bits are still there which means they either go disturbed or they looking for a real fast buck.

My mum got done by multinova twice on the way to come n see the damage done to the car. She's going to write a letter to accompany her fines ..... which goes something along these lines:

I hope you start putting this revenue to good use as in the past week both my son and my daughter have had their cars broken into. If you stopped revenue raising and started putting more patrol cars onto the road maybe this sort of vandalism would stop.

My adopted brother Ben had his 6 month old SS commodore wheels n rims stolen, all windows smashed and keyed last week after he attended an engagement party ... so i guess i got off lightly.

Such a piss off *insert rant here*

P.S - if anyone can recommend a business that is good at repairing a smashed window and retinting it .... it would be appreciated ..... i was thinking Novus or something

Sorry to hear that. Same thing happened to my zed. As you can imagine import windows ain't that easy to source by Novus got mine with 24 hrs and took about an hour to refit. Plus they did it all at my house with minimal disturbance.

HBF Turned me on to them. Only had to pay the excess ($200). The zed window was worth $460...so all in all I was pleased...would've been happier if it hadn't happened in the first place....

Hope you get everything sorted!

Paul

thanks guys ..... just more of an annoying inconvience if anything .... and fustrating because at work we get about one break in a month n i dont know if they'll be back  Amazing that for month i parked my car outside a drug rehab clinic which was up the road from juvenile court n nothing ...... middle of nowhere but still close to a busy place (with a security dept!) n this happens.

Thank you for the recommendation of novus ..... wont be going thru insurance as ive already sent my premiums thru the roof for this year! Concidently i saw one of their cars today haha oh well work has given me some time off tomorrow to get this drama sorted

Novus's ..... saw it parked outside belmont forum when i went to lunch (before all this) for some reason it roused my interest ... today had been one big freaky concidence ..... i cant believe i predicted it.

From now on i probably wont be parking my car at work but my aunty's house nearby

Well that explains it. Belmont aint the nicest area around. I used to live in Kewdale and would get nervous every now and again about my car being out the front.

As we were near tomato lake you would get the late night boozers walking around in rowdy groups....GREAT!

Now I live in a house behind another house and you can't see my car from the street, it's great, however if someone wanders down for a looksey then they have all the time in the world....

Niz are you just letting the drama follow you around for a bit of attention?? :D

Sorry to hear mate. I had the Opera glass in my Soarer (fixed rear window) busted and emailed Just Jap in Sydney to get a replacement. Once you have the glass any winscreen place can do the job. just make sure to shop around as i found a $300 difference in the price of the piece of glass from wreckers.

Sorry to hear about your mum too. Filthy cameras :D

Good luck and maybe add a note to my research thread below.

Thats Terrible nIz.....

The amount of problems we have with our skylines can make us cry but in the end when its all fixed again you will be smiling again......

As already said keep ya head up..... everyone has a run of bad things but then everyone also has a run of good things.....keep that in mind :-)

CAll Jap Parts Plus in Maddington and ask for Andre. They'll be able to tell you straight off it they have any spares. As the owners drive R33's I would be surpised if they didn't. They'll probably fit it for you as well...they did a great, inexpensive job with my gearbox.

Hello Nizmo

Sorry to hear, i got broken into about 3 weeks ago you can read the crap i went through here.

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=46213

As for your tint this post came up recently.

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=46133

The guys recommended in this are the brothers of one of the members on here.

I ended up getting my window from QLD from prima in the for sale category for $175 overnight shipping. DON"T pay the $280 - $330 i was getting quoted for from the wreckers.

You can install the glass yourself if your willing to hack around but if you are getting it tinted the tinter will have to do it for you.

Hope all goes well.

    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
