Hi guys and gals,

I have posted on the forum before regarding the value of R34’s before but decided to start a new thread with my journey and plans for my dream car.

I am currently living in Japan and will post about great driving roads and road trips here as well so some of you who wish to travel have an idea about where to go etc.

I purchased and received my car near Christmas 2019 and so far doing minor interior and exterior upgrades.

It’s a 99 V-Spec in bayside blue with 33k genuine km’s and the Engine is a S1 from Omori factory giving it a nice street feel.
I wanted to leave a record of the things I’ve done to my ride and will update from time to time with pics.

So far I’ve done interior upgrades such as LED’ing most interior lighting such as the aircon console and room lights, V-Spec2 pedals, Nismo seat covers,

on the exterior, it’s getting the Nismo Z-tune fenders and rear fender covers, R-tune bonnet which I am waiting to receive (back order)

Custom headlights + tail lights.

From here, it’ll be a wee wait for the bonnet (~1 year).

After talking with the Omori factory guys, I might go for one of their Fine-spec engines fused with some of my current S1 parts and upgrade to the new Nismo R3 turbo.

when this starts happening, I’ll post additional updates about the process

Looks stunning! I do love a Bayside Blue 34.  I presume buying it in 2019 you beat the crazy price rises or did you have to pay big ¥¥ for it?

You say "currently living in Japan", does that mean it's not permanent?

I desperately want to get to Japan at some point before I get too old to appreciate it! 🤣

Yeah, it’s a mid term thing, maybe staying a few more years to finish the car while I’m at it here.

I did kinda beat the crazy rise tho which I’m stoked about.

I love how the exterior worked out, and changed the yellowish parking lights to LED as well.

next will be a complete chassis refresh to make it better than factory + finishing off with Omori factory F-sport engine or the new R3 engine due release next year.

    • Is it alright to top up with just another green coolant?
    • thanks GTSboy. My confusion at the moment is i am trying to locate the ignition, ECU battery power and the ECU negative The closest thing i can find is the for the S15 on Page 8 of the Wiring Specialties web page https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9F33_M_GgENQnZ6STMxVmVNd1E/view?resourcekey=0-eZ4nNRwRoqa1qvKlWWHm8A I cannot find the same diagram for the R33 RB25DET Series 2 dash plug pin out.... Do you know what the Pins? or know where i can find the same pinout diagram for the RB dash plug? Thanks for the advice on the box... i like a 6 speed so might be on the lookout or the box now.. a topic of discussion for another post...
    • Will have a look at that. I cant see any leaks
    • Put another overflow bottle (ie, a 1.25 coke bottle or similar) under the overflow hose and see if it is being pushed out there or if it is disappearing into the engine.
    • Staring on a stand is no issue. You just have to wire everything up, give it fuel and cross your fingers that the stand is robust enough. Arranging the inlet plumbing is often the hardest part, without any surrounding structure to hand some of it from. No need for coolant if you only want to run it for <1 minute. As to the gearbox - I think the little Aisin box is a bit stronger than the other small Nissan boxes that went behind SRs, but I wouldn't be too keen to test its limits with the torque of a boosted 25. I don't know if you can retain the box and the tailshaft. The box won't connect to the RB without an adapter of some sort, which is either a plate that will push the engine forward (which is not good for fitting it into the bay's available space) or push the box back, which messes with the box position and tailshaft length - OR - cut and shut work on the bellhousing, which is a long way from "least modification". I'd be buying a new 370Z 6 speed or similar, doing what has to be done to that to make it fit RB (ie, cut and shut bellhousing) and the requisite tailshaft custom/mods.
