180SX/S13 Handbrake lever not locking! Need help

I did something really stupid and managed to pull the rod that presses the ratchet against the rod to pull the handbrake and lock it in.
 

I was pulling the button out to try and replace it with a drift button, and it pulled the rod alongside with it.

 

Now my handbrake doesn’t lock after I pull it up, but the ebrake stops the car from moving so I know the cables still work perfectly fine.

Would it be possible to fit this back behind the ratchet piece that locks the lever?

I'm not sure what to make of this question.

If you pulled it apart (even by force/accident), then put it back together.

If something on it is bent or broken, then fix it, and then put it back together.
