Ceffo
OK. I bought my car with the intention of being different ( u guys know what im talking about when peeps say oh theres goes another wrx,skyline,s13) and also to be a sleeper. Just wondering what would the effects of these cars be once they be more common. Such as 1. The value of these (minority) cars already here 2. Will the cops take more notice? 3. Will it have a common following as the other imports? etc BTW guys this is not a post to discourage the importing of these cars and others on the way. I would luv to see more on the road. Just the fact that i was thinking this as more come in what the impacts would be. ceffo. inark
like any car when it gets popular the usual things happen... the most appealing thing about any import is usually Bang for Buck... you just cant get cars for the price of a japanese import with as much power, technology, comfort and options as a local car. they will be come far more common unless the 15year rule gets shafted. the prices will of course drop. they will get just as much of a following as any import parts will become more readily available and im sure theres plenty more things but i need some sleep Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/48830-cefiros-the-next-importing-scourge/#findComment-980078 Share on other sites
dangerous_daveo
#1 People would stop calling them mazdas or toyotas, I personally feel this would be a positive step in the right direction. #2 The little spare parts will be easier to get a hold of, you will be albe to ring somewhere up, and they will know what the hell your talking about, and not think its a 4x4. And well, I reckon if you still went to a small town, people would go 'ooooh ahhhhh' at it But realistically, they might become more popular, but still being 15yo+ not everyone is going to want one, and being so old alone limits the supply of them. CEF11E
Everyone who has been in mine or driven it now wants one or is looking for one. so they will be coming here in a flood if the 15 year rule stays. Cant wait! i need the parts. also it will make our insurance cheaper according to my freind that works in an isnurance company. predator
OK. I bought my car with the intention of being different .. :ghost: I've seen quite a few more around, down at the supermarket etc. Like any import they will be around if people can buy them at a cheap price. I can think of quite a few reasons why they *wouldn't* ever become mass market popular as some of the other models. funkymonkey
looking at aussie buyers at regular jap auctions and yahoo auctions, there was a dip in August when people were expecting a rule change... I'm guessing in Dec there's gonna be a dip too, and come 1st of Jan there's gonna be an influx when people realise the rules haven't changed. There's no time like the present to do anything.
