Ok, so here's the deal. I have just quit smoking and aim to go at least 3 months(hopefully for ever) without a cigarette. Being an ex pack a day smoker, I now have some extra cash in my hands. To hold me to my pact, I need a goal. And that goal is going to be something for my line. But what?

So, in three months (saving about $50 a week-after patches etc- ) I should have 600 bucks. Should I get ;

* New front bar? Mine is broken and chipped to buggery

* SAFCII

* bolt on/engine upgrade (suggestions?)

* ?

* what I really want (pwr FC) 600 only a down payment. :boohoo:

Already got FMIC, EBC, Exhaust, Wheels, suspension, Sound. (soon to have fuel pump, fuel cut defender)

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Am hoping one day to get 200 kw out of her. and here's a pic of the front bar.

I havent had a smoke since drag combat round one.Cold the sphincter of the universe and i feel like a million bucks not 600.Do your life, car and image a favor give up the stinking fcuken things feel better and get addicted to modding your car instead.Paul...DIRTgarage.

The wife and i stopped when she got pregnant 3.5 years ago...it was pretty easy with that sort of motivation ...best thing we ever did ..have the babys..but quitting smokes was 1 of the smartest moves we made.......AND THE MONEY unless you really support the government 50/60% per pkt tax...QUIT

pffft wat are these sissies talking about??? Nothing more manly than puffing on one....maybe 2 ciggies at a time. In fact, sell your car and stock up on cartons of cigarettes!!

Hahhaha jokes man, good on ya for quitting, i'm with you, makes it much easier to quit if you have something tangible to aim towards.

Look towards the power FC i reckon. That way you have more incentive for longer, plus its a mad upgrade!!

(ps i never actually took up smoking but i'm talking in general terms!)

go another month ($800 - or just save another $15/week) and get a second hand power fc for sure. then, after another 8-10 weeks ($4-500), get it tuned. 2 goals/rewards right there. and by that time you'll be over the durries and addicted to modding your car. thats about where im at now...

edit: forget the front bar, cosmetic mods are for sissies! :D

My reward when I quit was to take a cake to work every 3 months. Also kept me honest with workmates who knew I had quit.

Part of my quit process was to cause Melbourne's water crisis - I was drinking water by the gallon! 1 of those sports drink bottles in the office, and 1 for home / car.

Congrats on kicking the dreadful habit.

Congrats on dropping the coffin nails!!

Now when you my age you can give all the young guys around you the shits by telling them you are so glad you gave up when you did,and to wake up to themselves!

Thanks also for making me realise that all that money I have wasted(??) on cars was only what I did not spend on that disgusting habit over all the years.

PS - It will be hard to completely give up - they ARE a DRUG of addiction !! :skull:

Hang in there.

thanks for all the comments guys, its actually been pretty easy so far. The patches work great (the dreams when you're asleep are mad as) and I'm not having to wear them all the time now. Haven't yet been out or had a drink. That will be the killer if there is to be one.

As for the line, its sort of down to a pwr fc or front bar. Anybody know where to start looking (apart from on here) for 2nd hand bars and pwr FC's?

cheers, Mark

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
