Dont really want to but i think it will be for the best.

Few financial blunders recently have really put me in it at the moment...

Its going to take me at least 3 months to get this car on the road because of them and i dont think i can really have it sitting there for that long costing me money.

Im trying to decide what i should do... sell it whole or sell it in peices. Its got so many aftermarket parts on it that i could probably make more than what i paid for it to this point but it would probably be easier to sell it as a whole for what ive paid for it right now.

Might pull the 18s off it and put them on th soarer and put the soarer wheels on the ceffy and sell it like that :D

This is basically what needs to be done to get it on the road.

-Adjust the suspension to a legal height (has coilovers which are currently wound as low as they go)

-Repair the front bar (its a genuine monkey magic one so no point in wasting it :))

-Repair the rear bar (same as above)

-Put a catback on it

-Side intrution bars

-Remove the rollcage

-Add rear child restraints

-Smaller wheels (enter the soarer wheels :))

-Unleaded filler nozzle thing

And thats about all i can think of.

Would make a nice track car... then you wouldnt have to worry about doing anything to it to road register it but who would honestly buy it for that?

Meh... i need to think about whats to be.

I know once its sorted out i will be on the look out for another car.. more than likely a 4DR R32 or another ceffy.

OH MY GOD - you didn't count on these things when you got it?

Don't do something you'll regret - and shop around for cheaper compliance or do it yourself if thats whats killing you.

Otherwise if you must and do end up selling it in parts I'll buy the cage :D

... BUT NOOOOOO!!!

LOL nah thats not whats the issue... it will just take me about 3 months or so before i can get it on the road... i have other issues which have popped up that are puting me in a tough spot right now financially :D

having a fair idea and the actual cost is a different story... i dont mind posting what i have paid for it to get to my door and i dont mind posting up the invoices which come to 17k.

btw dont mistake this as im desperate to get rid of it for any less than what i paid for it because someones trying to get a bargain... cause im not and nor will i.

more thinking out loud and getting ideas from others.

BLAH!!! What are you thinking crazy man! Just get a dodgy compliance!!! :D

BTW my compliance cost $1200, and I had the intrusion bars rivitted in, not welded in, so they had to be redesigned.

yea cause seriously inark you've got quite the machine there you and meggala have probably the best ceffy's in Australia atm would sad to see it go but didn't you consider all teh costs that you would have to go through to comply it and road register it before the purchase? or did personal things get in the way of funding what you knew you had to do with the car?

a few things came up after purchasing the car

cant get em here from anywhere i know of... ive checked everywhere and yet to find one in australia.

im going to have to do some extensive repairs to that front bar and i think i'll only use it for shows and stuff. I need to track down a cheap autech one to stick on for the moment.

    • Hi guys, long time no post as per usual! It's been a busy year so far, the biggest thing being a new job.  After 28 years in the automotive industry I decided it was time for a change.  I was losing faith in the industry and where it's heading.  Now in a completely different industry (electrical) working for a company that manufacture water pump contollers.  Not as sexy as cars but it's an interesting,  challenging industry. I now don't work Saturdays which is a bonus!  It's still 50-55 hours a week but having Saturdays ack after 28 years of working them is awesome!   No news on the GT-R but i did decide to add some more JDM goodness into my life....           1990 300 ZX.  She's not perfect but for a 35 year old car she ain't bad!  Just going to tidy it up a bit and enjoy it.  It's currently auto but will start stockpiling everything for a manual swap. It WILL distract me even further from the GT-R but im hoping not for too long! It somewhat proves a 6'8" freak can fit in a 300 ZX.  Sort of...  I drove it home from the previous owners house in Melbourne via Black Spur and Merton Gap (2 awesome bits of Victorian twisty road) and it was amazing!  Handles so well!!!   I don't think it would be worthy of a full build page but I'll post up some of the upgrades here if anyone is interested?  Cheers guys!
    • End game is to: - Remove all the slop from old worn parts - Adjust setup so that the wheels actually fit and the car is drivable (currently it is not because of the extreme rubbing on the guards).   Progress over the last couple of days, removed the rear hubs! Next steps: - Buy bushings - Replace bushings/bearings on hub - Reinstall
    • Cracked deck  And other cam snap stuff
    • A few random issues have popped up since my last update. My WMI pressure sensor failed within about 10 minutes of it seeing liquid. It was a 20$ China special, so I'm not surprised. My name brand replacement should arrive today.  My power steering assist also decided to crap out last weekend. The usual, works for about 60 seconds after starting the car then I lose it. I dusted off my old copy of NDS and connected to the HICAS ECU. Code 4 for assist solenoid.... I tested the solenoid and it's fine.  I knew the day where my HICAS ecu would crap out would come, and I welcome it. It was the last HICAS part on the car that is now in the bin. I've ordered an SSR and I will control the power steering solenoid with my Haltech ecu. It will be nice to have proper speed referenced assist again after all these years.
