I just realized, theres never been any mention of earthquakes in the Japan forum...

Well, the Kansai area and most of western Japan got hit by 2, yes 2 earthquakes tonight:

My area and dare I say Troys area too got hit by a level 3 or 4, while Mie (where I used to live) got hit by a level 5 intensity on the Japanese Omori scale.

What made tonight interesting was that we had 2 quakes, both within 2 hours of each other, both the same intensity, and both lasting at least 15 - 20 seconds (in Hyogo). Usaually a larger one is folowed up by aftershocks of a lower intensity... but then again I'm no goelogist so this might not be so uncommon, I don't know.

Tidal wave warnings are in effect from Tokyo right across to Shikoku, with the main focus on the Mie prefecture area (where the epicenter was, some way off the coast).

Anyways, thats enough action for one night, I'm off to bed.

I was in saitama tonite and felt a very small quake around 6:30pm

They have been happening on and off a fair bit recently in tokyo..

last week i was on the 7th floor at my school and one hit.

Maybe someone should post up some info regarding the great kansai prediction... similar but more power than the Kobe earthquake... that is expected to hit sometime soon. and destroy 6 million out of the 6.6million structures in the area.

Just got woken up by another one... this is getting a little freaky now, as there is a typhoon coming our way later on this afternoon too, and as you can see the epicenter is in almost the exact same place...

This time the highest magnitude was 4 in Mie (again), and we acyually felt a level 3. It only lasted for 5 - 10 seconds, but still, in my time in Japan this is the first time I felt 3 quakes within days of each other... something must be brewing underground?

Damnit... Japan will be destroyed before I get over there. :P
Hehehe, you know, sometimes I think Japanese people want Japan to be destroyed, just so they can start over again...:headspin:

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
