Checked the setup and all seems to be connected rite, but we are still having boost problems, Has any one setup a TurboSmart pro gate 45 with an APEXi AVCR ? If so what duty cycle do you run as the manual say to use 70% duty with external gate ?

We tested it with .5 Bar and 70% duty and it holds 9 pound untill 6k and then between 6 & 7 k it goes to 14psi ?? Any ideas?

I know nothing about the Apexi, but a boost control solenoid will have a base frequency which it is designed to run at. i.e. Haltech valve runs at 33Hz. The boost control device (Apexi AVCR) will then vary the duty cycle from 0 to 100% to maintain whatever the preset boost value is.

Sounds like the base frequency is not correct??

Turbosmart Pro gate 45

Got a quick question about the pro-gate 45, does any one know when hooking up an EBC if the controller can go into any one of the vacuum lines on the pro gate or is it specific to how its connected, eg top is EBC and bottom is boost pressure gauge ? vise versa.

As usual BBQ, my first suggestion would be to disconnect the boost controller and let the wastegate spring control the boost. If the boost still climbs then its a hardware problem and playing with the software is a waste of time.

Yes, that was the first thing we tried. What we have noticed though, according to the APEXi AVCR manual it states, when using external waste gate 70% duty. We tried that and the boost was going crazy like 2Bar, but when we turned it down to 20% it seems to be holding 7 - 8 PSI.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
