Alright about 2 hours ago i was drivin down the highway..everything was fine as usual. Then as i wnet to rev it a bit it got to about 3grand then just wouldn't go anymore. The engine sort of shuddered, and the car shook but i couldn't rev it past 3grand in any gear. Then as i decided to drive home it got worse...couldn't rev it past 2 grand. Then as i stopped at the lights the car stalled..started her up again and unless i give it some gas it would just stall. Got home...looked for air leaks etc..nothing i could find. Started her up again...everyithing was fine, perfect.

Took it out for a bit of a drivve and after 10-15 minutes it started doin the same thing...would let me rev that much..the engine shuddering all the time i put my foot on the gas slightly. Then when i go to stop or slow down it just stalls.

Anyone know anything that could be the cause of this.

IF this helps my car is running very rich atm...like i get 260 to a tank. My mods a full 3" zorst and airfilter runnin stock boost

ThnX

limp home mode is in autos only i believe , thats where it goes into shit mode becuase somethings ****ed , so after a certain time like 10 mins it is starting to happen hmm , well if its not happening until the engine warms up , then maybe there is ur problem somewere , check fuel pump . filter , thats all i can think of

limp home mode:

the ecu thinks there is something wrong, such as sensors failing and therefore assumes stuff is bad and wont rev past 2500 rpm (ish) its in both auto and manual, the most common cause of limp home mode is dead or faulty air flow meter, the ecu doesnt know how much air is coming therefore it assumes its only a little to prevent running dangerous lean mixtures etc..

check all piping, intercooler, plenum, throttle body, etc for leaks

Have u been playing arround under ur bonnet.Have a look to see if your air flow meter has any loose connectors or worn n shagged cables.A dodgey signal to the computer could be it.

Also check your that you are getting proper spark. It could be that your coil if shafted.injector cables and connectors wouldnt hurt either.

    • haha don't worry I'm sue you've got more fun ahead buying a 30 year old turbo car....but at least you are in the right place to ask
    • some days eh? The keyless entry and interior light on/off with the key will be controlled by the Body Control Module, but I'm not certain where that is or what it looks like (you might get lucky with a search to get a part#, which could be printed on it). I'd start at the A pillar/ Under dash/kick panel on the driver's side
    • It might be hit and miss, but Nissan Genuine Parts and Pitworks are not the same thing, although both are available from Nissan Dealers with Nissan Part Numbers. Nissan Genuine Parts are the OEM stuff, Pitworks are their attempt to get people back from generic parts makers
    • I did end up getting it sorted, as GTSBoy said, there was a corroded connection and wire that needed to be replaced. I ended up taking out the light assembly, giving everything a good clean and re-soldered the old joints, and it came out good.
    • Wow, thanks for your help guys 🙏. I really appreciate it. Thanks @Rezz, if i fail finding any new or used, full or partial set of original Stage carpets i will come back to you for sure 😉 Explenation is right there, i just missed it 🤦‍♂️. Thanks for pointing out. @soviet_merlin in the meantime, I received a reply from nengun, and i quote: "Thanks for your message and interest in Nengun. KG4900 is for the full set of floor mats, while KG4911 is only the Driver's Floor Mat. FR, RH means Front Right Hand Side. All the Full Set options are now discontinued. However, the Driver's Floor Mat options are still available according to the latest information available to us. We do not know what the differences would be, but if you only want the one mat, we can certainly see what we can find out for you". Interesting. It seems they still have some "new old stock" that Duncan mentioned 🤔. I wonder if they can provide any photos......And i also just realized that amayama have G4900 sets. I'm tempted too.
