Hey,

I'm writing this thread sitting in my hotel room at the 2004 Jamboree QLD.

The fastest gts-t you see at these big events are high 12s most running 13s-14s, There must be 2 dozen people on here talking about there 300+kw Skylines where are you guys ? It gets a little boring watching 100+ 10second Rotarys all day (Its still exciting dont get me wrong).

The fastest SR class piston cars are Datsons/Subbies, Sr20's fj20's.

And the occasional GTR which are always fast.

Bring on the loud External Gate Belching Gts's, Tell me when ya's are taken them to WSID on a wednesday night and Ill be sure to bring myn and a few friends along!. OR lets organise a night!

Stuff talking about HP talk about Numbers/MPH no room for error with dynos then.

BR,

JH

Just goes to show that it doesn't matter what state or territory you're in, the people crapping on and on and on about the awesome power their cars make AREN'T the ones that actually put the runs on the board and run them down the 1/4.

Typical and pathetic.

Adrian

Hahaha everyone with a "fast skyline" breaks it :D If you want to see some of the quickest skyline cars in Sydney you'll have to peek into a few backyards/garages!

fixed :D and never has a truer thing been post on here :)

so people with big numbers who dont like 1/4 racing are pathetic

You couldn't have possibly missed the point more if you tried.

I'll spell it out for ya:

People who crap on and on about what their car SHOULD or COULD be capable of because of their power figures but NEVER race it are pathetic.

See?

Adrian

I see you haven't read the manual on understanding Jimbo's behaviour Adrian :)

We understand and agree. I like to speak for others without their permission. All I want is a 13 when I eventually get to a drag strip. I doubt I could get a 12.

Hey - I'm a Dyno queen. What's wrong with that :D

Call me pathetic, call me a dyno queen, call me a shithouse launcher, call me anything you like - I don't give a flying fcuk.

I'm happy :) And that's all that matters to me - And should be all that matter to you too - all of you :)

Your a shithouse launcher Bitch-man even Dino beat you that time wahahahaha

What ever makes people happy. If they feel happy lying to themselves, good on em, leave em be, dont waste your breath, they're the ones who have to wake up every morning and deal with the fact that they will never live up to there own expectations until they prove they can.

I was there both days, pretty good i must say. damn hot ass weather tho...

saw a battered up 180sx with a sweet RB26DETT with single turbo conversion, speaking to the dude, said it made 400+rwkw...the motor looked pretty serious...

but yeh...

Just because you've got a fast car does not mean you have to race it.

and just another thing i wanted to add, every second car in surfers paradise is a skyline!!!

Good to see the skyline population taking off up there!

Call me pathetic, call me a dyno queen, call me a shithouse launcher, call me anything you like - I don't give a flying fcuk.

I'm happy  And that's all that matters to me - And should be all that matter to you too - all of you

You love us all Bitch-man :D You don't crap on and endlesly on about the 10 your car should do so, well, you may live :D

    • If they can dyno them, get them dyno'd, make sure they're not leaking, and if they look okay on the dyno and are performing relatively well, put them in the car.   If they're leaking oil etc, and you feel so inclined, open them up yourself and see what you can do to fix it. The main thing you're trying to do is replace the parts that perish, like seals. You're not attempting to change the valving. You might even be able to find somewhere that has the Tein parts/rebuild kit if you dig hard.
    • Can you also make sure the invoices on the box (And none exist in the boxes) are below our import duty limits... I jest, there's nothing I need to actually purchase and order in. (Unless you can find me a rear diff carrier, brand new, for stupidly cheap, that is for a Toyota Landcruiser, HZJ105R GXL, 2000 year model...)
    • Murphy strikes again! Nothing at all would have gone wrong if you had the tool kit in the car! You'd have just found the clamp loose the next time you went to touch it...
    • I have been being VERY quiet about what you're alluding to, as it is something that ticks me off... The number of cars from factory that run coil overs is HUGE! Most of them these days do... The other part that annoys me, is people saying "Well all the incabin adjustable suspension is illegal by blah blah blah"... If that's the case, then why can I buy a car brand new that can do it if, FULL STOP in cabin adjustable suspension is illegal...   Also, I could just chuck some aftermarket shocks in my car, throw the stock springs on, after my blue slip, dump my super low springs back in. Same shock and spring style setup... Hell, they could also be the same colour springs etc.     I'm voting, BlueSlipper didn't want to touch the above car for some reason. Whether it be some sort of bias against the car, the owner, them maybe having previously done dodgy shit and now they're being super careful in case they get slapped in the face by the Gumbyment again... Find a new blueslip place.   And can confirm as you had said, yes there are holy bibles of vehicle heights, and all sorts of other suspension stuff. Heck your run of the mill mechanic, and tyre shop has access to all of that stuff. It's how they do wheel alignments...
    • Funny story Heading to Sydney this morning on the HWY there was some slow traffic, so I gave it the beans and midway through my overtaking "power run" I lost all power It seems that I missed a hose clamp,  and the MAF and filter went WiFi To make this more problematic, the little tool kit that lives in the boot, is sitting in the sun room at Goulburn......LOL Luckily for me I found a bit of steel on the side of the road that could be used like a rusty and bent flat head screw driver to tighten it up enough that it got me into Sydney, it is now all tight like a tiger with the aid of a 8mm socket Note to self: Use my brain and double check stuff, and always keep that little tool kit in the car for when I have a brain fart
