I know you said you'd buy the GTR but just the word Boxter makes me angry. There is nothing I hate more than the Porsche Boxster. "The claytons Porsche"

Claytons Porsche????

ceral, I do believe you are talikng out of your ass :)

The concept is pure Porsche from way back. A simple 2 seat layout with one intention. The engine is the right configuration, behind the seats (mid engine but still behind the seats...) and you can even get it in a 2.7!!!

Now just don't mention the 916....

why could u only buy half a boxster? they r around the same price as an r34 gtr. ie u can get a new one boxster for around $110,000 last time i checked. nice cars... but its the bottom of the porsches. its really targeted at the older more conservative individual who just likes to look good yet, have a quality car and still have a bit of power.

hopefully i wont get too cained for this unresearched yet somehow factual post;)

Hey Guys...

just some info... theres a R34 GT-T for sale in Ashmore Road, Bundlle on the GC, its the same R34 GT-R blue and has a aftermarket front bar but stock wheels (the wheels are painted in the GT-R's gold colour to resemble a real GT-R... i dont know the price or specs but check it out)

btw: R34 GT and GTT's come in: White, Red, Yellow, Black (My One), Silver... dont think blue tho

hope i helped... byes :burnout:

R34's Rock!

Hi guys,

That R34 GTR blue is an awesome colour.I just got mine cut & polished for the first time since I've owned it & it came out great.

The R34 at the start of this thread is a wild looking car.Personally

I think the standard wheels are too understated for the aggressive look of an R34 & it's good to see something different on them. The R33 GTR is a great looking car, but the R34 has a much better interior & handles better too.

For the same money as a std R34, you could have a crazy R33 though.Hmmm, I s'pose it depends how fast you want to go.:burnout:

All Skylines are top cars.Just last night I was cruising with 6 or 7 pairs of stovetop lights in front of me.Always a great sight.

Cruzin.

hey neo/munro

in regards to the R34's, if you wanted to fit a R34 GTR front bar to a GT-T, could u cut the original GT-T bonnet to fit the front bar....i'm just trying to get an idea whether it can be done without buying a new bonnet ($$$$$ :) ) and no, i don't have the GT-T yet, just an idea i have for when i get it.

regards,

    • ..this is the current state of that port. I appreciate the info help (and the link to the Earls thing @Duncan). Though going by that it seems like 1/4 then BSP'ing it and using a bush may work. I don't know where I'd be remote mounting the pressure sender... to... exactly. I assume the idea here is that any vibration is taken up by the semiflexible/flexible hose itself instead of it leveraging against the block directly. I want to believe a stronger, steel bush/adapter would work, but I don't know if that is engineeringly sound or just wishful thinking given the stupendous implications of a leak/failure in this spot. What are the real world risks of dissimilar metals here? It's a 6061 Aluminum block, and I'm talking brass or steel or SS adapters/things.
    • And if you have to drill the oil block, then just drill it for 1/4" and tap it BSP and get a 1/8 to 1/4 BSP bush. The Nissan sender will go straight in and the bush will suit the newly tapped hole. And it will be real strong, to boot.
    • No it doesn't. It just needs an ezy-out to pull that broken bit of alloy out of the hole and presto chango - it will be back to being a 1/8" hole tapped NPT. as per @MBS206 recco. That would be for making what you had in alloy, in steel. If you wanted to do just that instead of remote mounting like @Duncan and I have been pushing. A steel fitting would be unbreakable (compared to that tragically skinny little alloy adapter). But remote mounting would almost certainly be 10x better. Small engineering shops abound all over the place. A lathe and 10 minutes of time = 2x six packs.
    • Ahh. Well the block damage is a problem, you really need to run a tap or thread chaser through it to see if the threads can be saved, but any chips are likely to be bottom end bound which is bad. Earls seem to have what you need if you want to stick with mounting direct on the block: https://rceperformance.com.au/parts/earls-straight-adapter-1-8-npt-male-to-1-8-bspt-female.html, but as I said above I'd recommend remote mounting the sender
    • I'm not quite understanding or I'm missing steps here, (I appreciate people are trying to inform my brain but I am of the dumb, especially today) - All I want to do is mount the male BSPT of the OEM sender into the system somewhere without it snapping the adapter via vibration. The Nissan sender has a male 1/8 BSPT output. The block has a (very destroyed) 1/8 NPT input. I'm not really sure how a lathe assists with that, and also don't know anybody with a lathe, nor specifically what I would want to buy. I'm not really sure how adding additional adapters creates a better, more leak proof resilient seal here.
