And about the reducer, the gt-rs is a bolt on kit therefore using the standard turbo to AFM pipe. As what bass is making replaces this rubber pipe it will fit the gt-rs turbo. But hey i thought that would have been completely obvious too.

hey bass out hows my stock pipe piece going let me know when i can get it back, by the way in about two weeks i'll be doing a full engine swap i can take my intake pipe piece off and take a couple of pics for ya if ya like ..... remember i already had a custom one made

I'm about to trial fit the R34 version maybe this week or early next. I don't think I will need the R33 version after that.

But if you need it, I will send it immediately.

I will be buying a rb25 Neo engine in the near future, and then I will possibly purchase one then off you.

Well, I just fitted the prototype pipe to my car and unfortunatly they way I have made it will not work.

The BOV and PCV valve return hoses join the standard pipe too close to the turbo inlet snout and they would go through silicone joiner.

I would be able to do it another way but it would mean cutting the standard BOV and PVC steel pipes and this would mean that returning the car to standard would not be possible and that's not what I want to do.

So, I have decided to change the style of the duct from a full replacement to a small replacement section which get's splicted into the standard rubber duct.

This will mean cutting the standard rubber duct and removing a section, but it will be much easier than cutting the steel pipes.

The small section will be much like the one that a certain magazine made.

It will be much cheaper than the original design and will also be almost invisible.

I have to run now, but I will posts more details and pictures of way the original design would not work early next week when I'm back to work.

Sorry guys, but sometimes things don't go to plan.

Anyway, see some of you at the cruise tomorrow.

i had the bov and the other return air thingy, moulded or welded in to one so they join at the one point, if you like on the 21st of jan weekend i will be changing engines i can take a pic of how it looks on the car and the welded section and the pipe by itself as i have to take everything off to get my engine out.

let me know if ya want this done as ill send you pics of it so you can see it this time

Okay, I'm back at work, so I've downloaded the photos to my computer.

Have a look at the fit of the pipe.

It was spot on but the BOV and PCV returns were in just the wrong spot.

I was hoping that I would only have to cut a little of the silicone back, but unfortunatly, it's imporrible to do what I'm trying to do.

So, What I'm going to be doing is modifying the original Rubber Duct to include a section of aluminium pipe.

Basically I will supply the aluminium pipe and hose clamps required, along with pretty detailed instructions on how to cut and shut the original duct.

This will mean modifying the original pipe without the possibility of returning it to stock, but at the end of the day, the pipe isn't the big problem. Cutting the BOV and PCV return pipes would be more of a pain in the arse.

Okay, so obviously this is going to be much cheaper than the original style I was planning on, as there is no silicon hoses, half the number of hose clamps, and the section of aluminum is much much smaller and easier to make.

I'm not going to guesstimate a price at the moment, but it will be cheap as.

Again, the kit will include all required parts to complete the mod, apart from a Stanley knife and the like.

I apologise for the change of plans, and anybody who wants to pull out of the buy is quite welcome to, as I havn't spent all that much money yet.

Oh yeah,

This is another shout out to try to find an R34 GTT standard Rubber Duct.

The doner will be supplied with a free steel duct and have the standard rubber duct freighted back and forth for free.

I will need it for one week.

Once I get them sorted, I'll get into the R34.

Burnfest, it has taken me quite a while to get to where I am with the initial design.

To do all the running around for a couple of pipes without BOV and PCV would be hell in a hand basket. I'd love to say I could do it, but this isn't my full time job so I can't committ as much time to it as I'd like too. Sorry burn.

R32 and R33 rubber ducts are now down at the fabricators and I have discussed where they should be cut and stuff. The R32 has about 45 degrees and a straight, and the R33 is pretty straight forward.

The R34 will be like the R33 but I can't get that one down to the fabicators until I can put my car or Adzmax's car off the road for about a week, and in the next couple of weeks, isn't the time for that.

SO. I hope to have a prototype of each of the R32 and R33 pipes about Tuesday week.

I'd say with the ease that these are going to be made the price is going to be great!

Anyway,

    • What copper washer do you guys use on the bleeder bolts? The existing one I have I had no idea where to find it in a local store, I did buy some online but that are only 1mm thick whereas my old one is 2mm+ thick and when I put the new washer out and squeeze the top radiator hose I can hear a bit of air but not with the old one. Does this matter? The new one doesn't leak, but the inner diameter is a bit loose whereas the old one threads on the bolt.
    • Howdy all, after being out a few weeks ago on a spirited drive in my GTR I have 2 issues that oddly have appeared at the same time. Whilst accelerating quickly through the gears all of a sudden i’ve lost power at the top of third gear (below redline around 6000rpm) for no obvious reason.    From that point onwards the car has been running rich on idle, won’t really rev under load without a ton of black smoke and the odd backfire, and dying as a pull up to a set of lights unless I keep the revs up around 1500rpm. In addition when shutting down the car that same night (I was 10 minutes from home) I noticed one of the turbos was significantly noisy on wind down when shutting off the engine. After letting the car cool down overnight it starts up fine, although once it gets to temp the revs start to creep up and down, the exhaust is darker than it should be and it also sounds like it’s running rich (fat note) I’ve put a new set of plugs in it - no change, the old plugs all seemed OK with two of them being somewhat richer/fueled up than the other 3 with 1 being borderline. I’ve smoked tested the intake system via the front of the Turbos, found a split vacuum hose going to the factory boost gauge sender, which I have since replaced.  Also found another leak on the gasket coming off the rear turbo outlet, have also replaced this. After fixing both of these leaks - still have the running rich issue. I’ve also tried another pair of AFM’s - no change here After pulling off the front turbo intake pipes, there is obvious shaft play in the front turbo, which now hisses loudly on light revvs although I can’t see why this would make the car run funny even under idle. I’m curious to know why it’s running rich before I potentially replace/rebuild turbos. The car is completely stock <50,000kms  other than an exhaust. Oil and coolant are all clear. I haven’t bothered with coil packs as it looks like they won’t be the issue due to condition of the plugs. Any help appreciated as I cry myself to sleep!
    • No probs at all. I used to love trying to dig up obscure info for those in need where possible going back 20+ years on SAU.  I did have another look and couldn't come up with any closer match. I'm leaning towards those skirts in your first pic are custom fitments, cut down/extended or from another car entirely and modded to fit an R34 sedan. I would've thought someone in Japan had them and taken a photo at some stage over the last 2 decades but there's nothing. Someone out there must know surely.
    • Welcome mate. Any pics? Even with a DE I'd be well happy if I had that as a 1st car.
