I am gonna put a Sub in the boot, but dont wanna pull interior apart as once u pull it apart once it never goes back 100% , so i was thinkin maybe run cables in flexi conduit and run the conduit under car from engine bay then up through the boot where there is a plug, this may sound stupid but i dont see why it wouldnt work?

i got my subs professionally installed. The guy did the subs, amp and all the wiring for $70. Did a fantastic job, pulled the car apart but put it together 100%. Doesnt even look like anything was touched.

If your worried about ripping up your insides then get it installed by a pro... running them under the car doesnt seem like a good idea but could work

lol... if you think $70 is steep then go to Strathfield, those guys wanted $140 just for the cable installation. For $70 everything got installed, neat and tidy and everything looks immaculate... the amp was mounted on the back a sub box and all the wires in the boot are concealed... there's no way i could do a job that good... very happy with the job

installation took about 2 hours with some diccussions... the cables set me back $30 (79.95 at strathfield). 600Watts RMS 4 channel wiring kit... enough for both my 600Watt subs no hassels. The sound is clear and no distorsion from the subs whatsoever (cant say the same for my stock 6*9's which will be going soon)

So anyway... j, if you are worried bout damaging your carpet from the wiring, a pro at a decent price is worth every cent in my opinion

$70 sounds extremely steep just for somebody to run a cable through.. However if you want it done perfectly without damage, get a pro to do it, if they damage anything get them to repair/ pay for the damage.

thats about what I charge for a 2 channel amp EXLCUDING the power kit. $130 with wiring included is the norm

I do this everyday and never had a probelm with panels ( on r31,32,33,34) not going back on right.

if you are in doubt get it done professionally. it will save you the cost of broken panels and trashed harnesses ( if you pinch one when you put the seatbelts back in!) and everyone of us in the business has insurance to cover a f'up IF we make one.

cabling under a car isn't a good idea. RCA cables arent made for outdoors and wont last anymore than 6 months tops. powercable is a similar thing unless its double jacketed.

When I was 18 and had my first car I had one install done by them, just amp connection and cable supply as mentioned above, was $140 and i redid it all myself properly within a month. Never again. I should thank them I guess, seeing how badly "professionals" did it gave me the confidence to do it myself for the first time and i have never looked back.

if its against the guidelines then mods just remove the link.

yep a lot of the kids I trained there had no idea. most still don't...

CAA is a good starting point. a better one is asking a lot of questions and trying yourself.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
