So the time has come to get some new rubber on the R34 GT-T.

Ive done some looking around and wondering if anyone has had experiences with these Tyres, good or bad.

Also what about these prices?

Good or Bad?

245*40*17

Bridgestone S03 - $370

Kumho KU19 - $268

Yokohama AVS V102 (or AVS100) - $400

Now the car is mostly used as a daily driver and does not get anything in the way of track work.

Im leaning towards the Kumho because of the cost.

Best combination from expeirence:

Rear: Falken RT215 semislicks

Front: Falken ST115

The RTs are about $320 a tyre for 17" 245-55

STs are a fair bit cheaper

If the car is just a general daily driver with not much hard driving then just about any descent tyre will be fine

I have recently installed Yoko AVS to my GTST - reason that these were the closest spec rubber to a semi-slick however should still get around 30000km instead of 10-15k with semis. They also have a solid tread pattern which flexes less on the track - 235 45 17 & 255 40 17 cost around $370/tyre. I use everyday for business but aso get to the track every six weeks or so. Did have falken azenis which I found to be shitful in the wet. I very happy with the results especially in the wet - but really need a dedicated track trye for the track

Might be worth trying:

Hankook Ventus K104 (not aval in NSW but are in Vic through Donnellan's The Tyremen, go figure...) there are good reports on the forums about these.

Sumitomo HTRZ-02 (very underated apparently).

Price for 255/40/17 was about 250/320 repectively.

Good luck

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
