how much beating could it handle?? i mean would it withstand a moded RB26??

and how much does it run for a clean one??

You would have to do the usual mods to it, plus a large cooler. They are a genetic Jatco, they supply to lots of Japanese car makers. I have seen similar internals do an 8 in a 2.5 litre WRX, with nitrous and all the usual stuff.

There are a few auto to manual Stagea conversions going on, so you should pick one up realatively cheaply. Post up a wanted and see what sort of response you get. :)

Save your time, and PM me. I've got one left over from the RB25DET upgrade to the R32 GTS4.

And your point ? Look at GTR700 and HKS R33 and a lot of other skylines in Japan that run 8 so were both even.

Plus manual is more fun :)

The only advantage with auto is that you will get constant quarter mile runs but you will eventually have problems with it slipping out of gear not working properly etc.(stock auto box) but if you have that much money to spend why dont you buy me a 8 second Skyline ? :jester:

Manual is more of a challenge by trying to get a potential 8 second skyline down the strip can be a handful. Ovbiously your not up for a real challenge thinking that putting a GTR engine in a Gtst with an auto box is.

If your aim is to build an 8 sec GTS-T i hope it goes well, but if you think you have one of the quickest car in Cairns by owning a 300kw GTR and saying theirs no challenges up here you'r dreaming. I dont believe it intil i see it ;)

-----and what is rong with running the engine stoc puting out 300 rwhp----- ?

Read what you said before that.

-----and not sure on my hp to rwkw conversion but isnt 390hp less than the R33

GTS-T puts out stock standard-----

:D

Hi guys, as most will know I am not an auto fan, they simply don't work in a circuit race car. But if I had to build a sub 10sec drag Skyline I could do it with an auto far easier and far cheaper than a manual. Hugos will sell me, almost off the shelf, an auto capable of running 9's all day for less than $3K. A manual gearbox capable of the same will cost three times that, then add $3K more for the clutch. The auto is going to be much softer on stuff like tailshafts, diffs, driveshafts, uni joints etc. The standard stuff that will survive with an auto, won't with a manual.

The current issue of Zoom mag has the beginning stages of putting an RB26 into a 4 door R33 backed by a modified factory AUTO.

The workshop that modded the auto, M V automatics, claimed it will handle the power fine and also not be un street friendly with over the top harsh shifting.

And it wasnt an expensive excercise either, under $500 is what it cost to beef the auto.

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
