Hi Guys!

Ok i've finally saved up enough $$$ to buy a car......with only one car in mind....a r33 skyline. I've had a look at one and i thought i'd run it past you guys first just to make sure its a good deal because i dont know much about skylines.

Here are the specs:

1993 R33 4 door

Gun Metal Grey

Non turbo

T bar Auto

160,000 kms

Air conditioner doesnt blow cold air...i've been told a $40 regass will fix this?

16 inch nissan rims ( 1 back tyre needs replacing.....weird i would of thought both back tyres would be bald at the same time?!?)

upgraded twin muffler exhaust

The interior is pretty good apart from a ciggie burns on the drivers seat

The body work is in good condition apart from a small dent on the passenger door

The price i have been quoted is $21,999. To afford this I will have to get together a few extra grand, what do you guys think so far?

let me know

Lamba

Non turbo 4 door auto?

i wouldnt pay 12k for that

Those things are lemons of the skyline world in terms of resale potential/demand

the car specs u listed and the price the guy is asking is way overpriced...

You could pick a 93 non turbo auto 4 door up for 12k to 15k depending on mods

however the one u listed is AUTO and NON TURBO FOUR DOOR...

Heres a general price guide obvously depending on condition and mods etc etc:

1993 - 1995 series 1 4 door non turbo auto = 11k to 14k max

1993 - 1995 series 1 4 door turbo auto = 12k to 16k max

1993 - 1995 series 1 4 door turbo manual = 14k to 18k

1993 to 1995 series 1 2 door turbo manual = 14k to 20k+ (mods)

Mate u are getting ripped hard!!!! I got my skyline for 24 and it was wored and only done about 3000km from engine rebuild (not fake km either) i suggest u have a look at this forum and have a read of it got some really good advise on buying a skyline... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=35129

keep looking around man till you find something a bit cheaper or with a bit of good work done on it and in a good clean condition...

i got my car for $14000 n/a manual 2 door.

so as everyone else has said, dont buy!

and check the link that the good man meggala has posted, think about it, $15000 on the car, and $5000 for everything else (mods, insurence etc)

SRV is a god!!! :P

ok that aside, that is the biggest rip ever. Is this a private sale, import yard?? If this is a business asking that much, if they are dodgy enough to put that price on, i don't know if you could trust anything else they have.

please stay away from the car unless he wants to chop $10K off the price :D

cheers

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
