2x10" and a suitable amp

now i know i say you have to listen to it before you buy it to know if you like it...BUT i want some others oppinions aswell

10" subs

audiobahn

fusion encounter

clarion

i have pioneer at the mo but my amp isnt so flash, should i just use my 4ch to power all the speakers n then get a better amp to power my 12" pioneer?

i originally wanted to go 2 10" coz they are punchier...but if i find a nice amp for my 12" (400rms) then i will go that way...how much will an rca splitter cost? coz my h/u only has 1 pre-out i think...

also, what amp would suit these? ie, give around the min req rms

i want 10's coz of punchiness...plus i wanted to custom install them...one on each side of the boost kinda thing...facing on an angle towards the back if u get what i mean...n maybe a custom amp rack in the middle...

well i was gunna get 2 fusion 10" coz i can get them cheap through my mate who was sponsored, and was thinkin bout that rockford amp in the forsale section...

Fhrx - all the stuff u listed is quite expensive, im looking to spend heaps, just to get clearer and crisper bass, but also LOUD, not pure SQ or anything...

Guessing thats my Rockford amp ??? Anyhow if you plan to get it, and want to run 2 x 10" Fusions, if they are Single voice coil subs, make sure they are both 4 ohm coils. If they are Dual Voice Coil, then make sure they are Dual 2 ohm coils.

Reason being is to maximise your power from the amplifier. This thing will move 2 x 10" easily....

I got the Rockford Punch 400s Powering a 10" which I bought from FHRX and this thing seriously sounds like a top end 12 off the rockford amp and its getting roughly 400 rms, so imagine 2 x 10" on the bigger amp... You should be bass happy :)

Let me know if your interested in the amp, we can negotiate the price since I need the cash for my Dyno tune... :D

will pm u in a lil mate, whats the rms per ch though...coz i will be running my fusion splits up front and my pioneer 12" 400rms sub...will work fine aye?

You will get 93.75 or something RMS on the splits (@4ohm), and bridge the sub across the rear which will give you about 375 rms(@4ohm).... The link I sent you in the PM has the power output example via factory spec. The actual power output on the birth certifricate is actually more (972rms) which means you will probably getting 400rms on the sub and 100w rms on the splits...

      Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻

      Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”

      Yes it is ATF. I quote @Duncan "it takes a good synthentic auto trans fluid like Castrol Transmax Z" It's not a diff. It's a transfer case. Totally different thing. Yes, fluid will come out the sender hole. No you do not really need to drain it. Just pull the old, quickly poke the new, clean up and top up. But realistically, you should probably take the opportunity to change it anyway.
