What a day!!!

Congratulations Erin on a successful cruise. You have outdone yourself. Everyone behaved accordingly which was great to see.

Like everyone else I couldnt get enough of seeing that many skylines lined up down the roads. So many pictures in my mind that I wish i could have gotten on the camera.

knore: Get that footage somewhere to download or whatever when you can, would love to check out the lines all driving past!!

I only took a couple of pics but I am uploading them at the moment. I think you will notice one particular car that got more shots than any others lol. Nothing special but a couple of nice pics there.

Give the pics about 20 mins to upload.... not that your missing out on much.

I only met a couple of the SAU guys, sorry to be such a snob, I barely know anyone  I guess you dont get to know people unless you go up and chat. my bad..

same with me, could you please send me any photos of my car that were taken. (i was driving that green skyline) i was the only green skyline on the day so shouldnt be hard to tell which one eheh forward it to [email protected] or add me to msn and send through there, thanks

it was a great day, first time takin my car out on a cruise, so wasnt to bad.

MANDO I loved your ride!!! very sexy.

I was driving the white r31 silhouette that was riding your tail for half the cruise.

PS. sorry to get a little bit close to you at one stage there, I had no idea until very late that we were turning left. Need to get me a booty hoe to give directions ;)

SyP40n nice pics of my car man ta....

My digital camera is broken and in for repair so i thank you for taking the first pics of my car.... Cheers...

NOTE TO THAT GUY WHO WANTED TO STEAL MY WHEELS: I didnt have lock nuts on the car yet... As i only got this one last week and the 17" VOLK rims on it worth over 3.5g's didnt come with either centre caps or lock nuts.... Anyway I bought 2 sets this afternoon... Now you can keep dreaming.... (I hate theives) If i ever see you near my car again i will not hesitate to hurt you... Trying to steal someones wheels on a MSC with 100 other skyline fans around you are asking for trouble...

Awesome day  I was at the back of the pack for the whole day, and it was a sight to behold, looking ahead and seeing 80-odd Skylines. There were that many that the odd Camry/4wd/bike didn't spoil the view.

Give the bikes a break though guys, two of them were suicidal maniacs, the rest were OK... unless there something happened further up the pack?

That was mad fun hey! Well done to Erin and the vast crew of organisers. I rather enjoyed the day. Awesome weather! LONG LIVE MS(+C,L, and other S)C!

I reckon have one every quarter and choose a different charity. Maybe even hit a few Magazines up to cover the event and get them to donate money/products etc.

But yeah awesome drive, I reckon we should do more drives like that, most of the way the speed limit was 80-100kmh anyway, so it was interesting enough without pushing anything too far.

Really well done hey.

I think the timing of these cruise's is spot on there should only be 3-4 a year so that people make the effort to go to them, have to many and it will end up feeling like just another cruise, keep up having a few sunday cruise's though as it is good to get out in the sun and see people and there cars in a different light.

Great work again Erin

Yeah the idiot reversed back...  Shame really...

I've got a burnt right arm

me too, it looks like my arm was just reborn with new skin and all

last msc was over a year ago, i think we need one every 3 months/4 times a year

Oh, nearly forgot... I didn't get many pictures as I'm just too damn slack, but the ones I have are here (warning - heavily biased  ):

    • Yup. You can get creative and make a sort of "bracket" with cable ties. Put 2 around the sender with a third passing underneath them strapped down against the sender. Then that third one is able to be passed through some hole at right angles to the orientation of the sender. Or some variation on the theme. Yes.... ummm, with caveats? I mean, the sender is BSP and you would likely have AN stuff on the hose, so yes, there would be the adapter you mention. But the block end will either be 1/8 NPT if that thread is still OK in there, or you can drill and tap it out to 1/4 BSP or NPT and use appropriate adapter there. As it stands, your mention of 1/8 BSPT male seems... wrong for the 1/8 NPT female it has to go into. The hose will be better, because even with the bush, the mass of the sender will be "hanging" off a hard threaded connection and will add some stress/strain to that. It might fail in the future. The hose eliminates almost all such risk - but adds in several more threaded connections to leak from! It really should be tapered, but it looks very long in that photo with no taper visible. If you have it in hand you should be able to see if it tapered or not. There technically is no possibility of a mechanical seal with a parallel male in a parallel female, so it is hard to believe that it is parallel male, but weirder things have happened. Maybe it's meant to seat on some surface when screwed in on the original installation? Anyway, at that thread size, parallel in parallel, with tape and goop, will seal just fine.
    • How do you propose I cable tie this: To something securely? Is it really just a case of finding a couple of holes and ziptying it there so it never goes flying or starts dangling around, more or less? Then run a 1/8 BSP Female to [hose adapter of choice?/AN?] and then the opposing fitting at the bush-into-oil-block end? being the hose-into-realistically likely a 1/8 BSPT male) Is this going to provide any real benefit over using a stainless/steel 1/4 to 1/8 BSPT reducing bush? I am making the assumption the OEM sender is BSPT not BSPP/BSP
    • I fashioned a ramp out of a couple of pieces of 140x35 lumber, to get the bumper up slightly, and then one of these is what I use
    • I wouldn't worry about dissimilar metal corrosion, should you just buy/make a steel replacement. There will be thread tape and sealant compound between the metals. The few little spots where they touch each other will be deep inside the joint, unable to get wet. And the alloy block is much much larger than a small steel fitting, so there is plenty of "sacrificial" capacity there. Any bush you put in there will be dissimilar anyway. Either steel or brass. Maybe stainless. All of them are different to the other parts in the chain. But what I said above still applies.
    • You are all good then, I didn't realise the port was in a part you can (have!) remove. Just pull the broken part out, clean it and the threads should be fine. Yes, the whole point about remote mounting is it takes almost all of the vibration out via the flexible hose. You just need a convenient chassis point and a cable tie or 3.
