New fuel pump: Anyone notice this?

I put in a new fuel pump today - Bosch 040

Apart from the small beehive buzzing in my boot, I can now run more boost - about 13psi without it misfiring or pinging.

Strange, anything near 11psi before would misfire like hell....

How could the old fuel pump affect that ? Would my old pump have been shagged?

a ping would mean your leaning out and detonating, amazingly, a bigger fuel pump will supply more fuel, thus eliminating the lean. TADA!

yer, sounds like your old one was a bit stuffed.

but you wont get stuff all gain using 13psi anyhow

I noticed an immediate difference when I replaced my 8yr old R33 GTS-t standard fuel pump with a Bosch 040 when using 12psi.

Kym the stock pump is only good for 80,000Kms anyway... and after installing a new one usualy power usually goes down because of your richer AF ratio

Maybe it WAS a ping because the 040 would of made it misfire more.
