For the record I just renewed my Torque policy.

26 year old rating 1 driver with no infringements

1993 R33 GTS25t $20,000

Air filter, exhaust and suspension mods

~$1150 premium with $750 excess

Was going to go with Just Cars who came in the at about the same however I thought their excesses are unreasonable. They were something like $400 basic + $700 imported + $400 mods.

Will Torque be good in the event of a claim - only time will tell... Any experience anyone?

I know that Just Cars have paid out, even for someone who was only on a cover note who hadn't even made a premium payment! I'm not interested in saving $200 per year if it means I'll get hassles in the event of a claim...

OH man that is shit! I mean not shit for you Niz that is good news but it's just frustrating for me given all the hassles I encountered.

Boo hoo....I am going to go off and cry now :)

I am covered by Torque for a reasonable premium though so I shouldn't complain.

I had My Holden VT and Proton Gti insured with Western QBE for about a year, I called them up the other day and told them I was selling my VT to get a 1995 GTST 2 door manual Skyline and they said they dont cover imports unless you have been with them for over two years... kinda crap. I might Try Just Cars and Torque.

People you have to live up to the facts that imports are more often crashed and when they are crashed they are more expensive to repair, so what you have to do is show to your insurer that you have a good insurance and driving history and then show some history with performance cars, then you may 1, get insurance and 2 get a decent price, otherwise you just have to live with the hand you have dealt yourself.

    • Hello, first of, I’ve looked at many threads on this code but none have helped me, if you know one that will help me feel free to post a link.   Now to my problem. Recently I was driving and noticed the check engine light came on. I went home and did the test to see what code it gave. I got the 21 code but everything seems fine with the car, no misfire, idle is good, acceleration is the same as when I bought it. I mean no signs of obvious failure. If no misfire is happening I can rule out the coil packs right? Which is about 98% of posts saying it is. If anyone has had this happen and found the issues let me know please. No other lights are on.   The car WAS due for an oil change. I since then changed it so idk if that triggers code 21. Either way it hasn’t turned off.
    • Your both right, it may hold a bit longer then.  Soon I need to change the synchros, should I fit the billet plate while I'm at it? Or just a waste of money?
    • Some of the east coast US Stagea got together this past weekend at Lime Rock Park in CT for Grid Life Circuit Legends. This is probably my favorite pic of the shoot with @Morgan.Mundahl on IG. Hope we get more stags out next year! i think I spotted 5 other than my own at the event.
