Geez you guys are f*ckwits. I went through all of this when I posted the tread about prefered workshops. If anyone has had a bad experience (other than price related) with speedworks PM me. I've had bad experiences and talked to a fair few people that have also had bad experiences with workshops mentioned here before (no name naming). The *only* place I will take my car is speedworks. I'm sure the fact that these guys are in the process of building one of the fastest GTR's in Perth means they *may* have a little bit of experience with the dyno... ya reckon? BTW: the only tweak you can do on the dyno is probably add a slight advance to the timing of the car through the crank angle sensor, it'll add a couple of KW's. Its not really recommended cos if you are still running stock ecu and stock intercooler if you are fanging it on a hot day (which you shouldnt with stock intercooler) you could get detonation.

Fellas, lets not get all bitchy about this.

I know ALL these guys ( cyphers, Speedworks, SST, PSI )and a few more and have had dealings with them all at some time in my life.

Thing is Perth is too small a place to badmouth people and the word does get back to these guys.

My suggestion is that if you have a problem with any of them , then tell them or if some one asks, PM them.

Failing that, say nothing, you will be respected more for it.

We are never going to please every single person on this forum so my suggestion is one person organise it with one company and if an individual has a problem with that company then don't go !

righto enough of the bitching ladies.

rob loose the attitude if someone doesn't like the workshop you use thats there choice.

Guys its a dyno day. i'd say the criteria u want is

preferably a 4wd dyno but 2wd will do.

a decent price, both SST and Speedworks have now provided this.

decent parking and spectating area.

someone who knows there dyno

its only a power run u can tell em how many revs you want them to go to and they aren't tuning your car.

as for tweeks depends on your setup. as rob said u can advance timing, u can also up boost, minor safc tweeks if its already tuned etc.

any ways calm down make your decision on which dyno and go with them.

OK ladies heres the deal!:P

Just spoke to Brett at PSI he said that Mid - Late Jan he can run a dyno day full screen and readouts for everyone to see.

He said $30 each.... if there are lots of cars though might be able to push him for $25...

Also if we do agree he is going to get out a special little surprise for us.... prob one of the most powerul Gtst's we have ever seen...

Up to you guys where you want to go but yeah there is the price on a nice NEW 4wd dyno.... $30 maybe i can beg him for $25 if heaps of you guys agree to go....

i had to stop myself from drooling over the engine...

I don't know if i can say much else... Ummm if it is the same GTst we wre talking about the new engine hasn't got a RB30 bottom end... good idea though but the decided to do things a bit differeent;)

Man i feel like having my own dyno day there just so i can see this baby in action!

PSI or speedworks sounds good to me.

If people wan't to have a dyno day sooner rather than later perhaps we can organise a day at both dyno's. A december run at speedworks then a mid/late january run at PSI (after everyone has got Power FCs for christmas).:P

If you guys want to use speedworks let me know and I will organise it with ivan. PSI is up joondalup way, speedworks is now in osborne park, so its probably more central. BTW: I didnt start the bitching about workshops, my 2cents worth. I just find it frustrating when providing a solution for people and they bitch about it.

My 2.2c would be for PSI

They did take care of the SDU  dyno day...

He does hire big sreen projector for the day..

And am guessing this 'BIG' Skyline would be Dannys White one.. If so..that alone would be something to see.

Yup thats the one!!! Brett said he would have it ready for us!

Yeah big screen for us to watch too!!!

PSI did ask for Mid to Late Jan

OK joe you make the decision..... :shake:

Firstly...

Adam.. if you DO beat me, and we've all see how you drive..ha ha then i'll just have to key your car up. !

Rev210... lol I almost forgot about that.. we got chewed out by that cop good and proper huh.. well we were doing just a tad over the limit.

Radium.. At Myaree my little Silvia pulled 252 RWHP on 15 psi, t28, fmic and full 3" zaust.

I'm thinking the reading is a bit high, as a month or two earlier, same mods except 14 psi, i got 219 at Fuel Inj Services, in Belmont. who knows..?

I only went to Myaree cause i wanted a print out with an a/r ratio printed on it

Fuel Inj Serv couldn't do it..

At the risk of stirring the porridge, may I present some dyno comparisons for my/R34's old car (some of you will know as Buffy):

PSI 169rwkw/226rwhp

Myaree 219rwkw/294rwhp

Still got the printouts if anyone wants to see them.

My vote is the dyno at PSI.

I just got some more work done by Brett & I am very particular about my car (as most of us are). Please don't let some bad experiences affect our choice of venue as it won't be the same if everyone isn't there.

My 2.2c.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
