Hi guys,

As the title says, im after a good power fc tuner to tune my EMS next month in Sydney. Its for an R33 GTST. You can post comments both positive and negative about your experience with your tuners, and would be helpful on why you went to them to tune your PFC?

Also how much should it cost? Should I also be changing things like fuel filter and sparkies before I go???

EMS = Engine management system (Power FC) :)

:) Thanks for the clarification, EMS also being a brand of engine management :D

Regardless, use the search function as this was covered less than a week ago.

CRD, RUF Performance and Unique Autosports springs to mind as some of Sydneys more reputable tuners

Hey Mr_G

Let me know where you get it done from and if its good or not.....If its good i'll take mine too ...

Will do buddy, there is supposedly some guy "David ? " in Kirrawee near SSPI (Flora St) who does Power FC's... Im going to have a chat to a mates dad who got his RX-7 tuned there, so ill talk to him regarding the tune... If not, I think I might be going Bel Garage @ homebush... Ill let you know though, ill get it done middle of next month

Hitman did mine.....and a few friends cars.....also a lot of the silvia boys use him.

$300 flat rate.

He does road tunes.....but he has opened up a shop in penrith and will be getting a dyno soon...

Hmmmm interesting, do you know when hes getting the Dyno for his shop?

yeah he should have it early next year...like Jan or early feb...

good tuner...and if your car only needs like a touch up tune after installing something new....he will only charge you like $80 or so.....DONT quote me on the price....but thats the figure he gave to me off the top of his head...it all depends on what needs to be done of course.

Yeah, I've never used HITMAN myself, but a number of people I know have and all were happy with his service. Don't worry about waiting for the dyno mate, there is nothing wrong with a good road tune. Ask yourself: "where do I mostly drive?" on the road or on a dyno?

I'd like to hear more about him being a local and all....

Well, the hitman is a sydney tuner. His nick stands for: Haltech Injection Tuning Man, and obviously he made a name for himself tuning Haltech ECUs. He has a website, though I can't remember the URL off the top of my head. As for him posting up, I don't know if he's an SAU member. Just google Hitman and tuning or something like that and you'll find him.

    • Ok I get you. But isn’t the butterfly intake a headache with the +T?  see this is my plan so far but please advise me into the right direction.  Nistune Ecu, 1000cc Bosch injectors, TD05 or TD06 Kinugawa turbo using stock rb25det exhuast manifold, walbro fuel pump unsure of model I think it’s 450/460, spitfire coils and sparks to suit and a R35 MAF sensor and boost sensor.    I was thinking maybe do a cheap eBay plenum $400-500 or try find a stock det neo intake. I think I’d port match it so it’s getting the full capacity but open to advice please.  Thanks
    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
