So what happens with the variabel valve timing? You just lock the timing at the base setting?

Curse you ppl for turning your back on the RB20, Rb26 i can understand...but RB25. They are the enemy i tell you , the enemy:rant:

LOL...follow benms' setup and in an R32 and the thing will be loads of fun. Id say you wouldnt even have to bother with a turbo upgrade for good while:) There are a few R33 boys running high 12s with std turbo....

hmm i dont know wats done to my rb20 than.. maybe just a funky dyno..(more than likely)

im pushing out 180-190ish rwkw on stock boost with just a custom exhaust (made by a mate of mine) and a rb25 turbo(yes.. stock boost 7psi)

my fmic is goin on in the next few weeks along with a new clutch and also timing belt is getting done

I didn't know that you have to give the bank an invoice for everything you are going to buy with the loan $$$.

Jeeze they have to be a pain, although it is good coz some idiot could say he's buying a car and then leave.

Car will be going into mechanics on Monday 24th January and will be up and running early Feb.

take it easy

RB25s in standard form (not talking about the neo engine here) have never stood out to me, i've had many friends who have busted rb25 engines with minimal mods.

Sounds like your friends are doing something wrong. There are people getting >300rwkw on stock internals on a non-neo RB25. Steve for example .

hi roy,

everythings been going great, I have taken the car to my usual mechanic whom i am good mates with anyway. Rather than paying $2500 for everything then another $500 or so for power fc tuning im looking at paying just under 2k including the power fc tune.

My only stuff around is locating a speedo drive from a gtr to fix the speedo problem.

Will get it back this week, with power fc tuned, 3" front pipe, 9psi low boost and 13psi high boost.

Im itching to see what power it will make and how it will feel on the road.

Take it Easy

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
