Hi driftKNG

I am very interested in a 044 pump but have noticed that you quote the flow rate at

* These pumps have a flow rating of 330 l/hr @ 5 bar (73.5psi)

but in the Fuel Pump Technical Data link from bosh you posted they quote the 044 at 200l/hr @ 5 bar

where did you get your flow rate from, thanks for any help with this as It will help me decide what I need

Brett

Offcourse i do!

PM ME!

Oh well Good luck with your sale "doridori32" I'm still going with "driftKNG" as he can do it cheaper again then what you can. Considering its his original thread !!

And it seems like your trying to steel his business, by come on and saying you can better the price. That indicates a "try hard to me." But that’s just my opinion.

Hey Brett,

Just getting my facts straight before answering your question. Will let you know as soon as confirmed. cheers.

Hey Bu5ter,

Only explanation is can offer is that Bosch are very conservative in regards to their flow rates. I have seen my results from a website that sent thier fuel pumps to be tested by indivdual companys. Bosch tests their fuel pumps at 12 volts, whereas most results displayed on the web are at 13.5 volts which would give it more power and more flow. All I really know for sure is that this is the best fuel pump offered by Bosch, and is a top 3 fuel pump for motorsport!

Just remember that at 80 psi all other pumps drop their flow to almost half of the rated flow. Bosch is the only pump that can hold it's pressure AND flow rating. It's a true racing pump for those that require reliable flow.

Hope this helps!

Regards, Scott.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
