Cheap !, when the price is in Yellow ( ie. the 190,000 yen ) that is the desired and will sell at price. 190,000 at the current exchange rate is about $2900 aus in japan . Would hardly call that cheap, especially when I have a set of R34 GTR rims and brand new tyres for sale at $3800 .

You really need to have contacts in Japan..... :)

But if someone knows someone..... :)

There are always the Japanese S1 R31 tail lights for sale on Jap Yahoo....

Theyre never any more than $75 AU at auction, but they want over $300 for them here (when you can find them)

like R31 Skyline Chick said its all about contacts. most people over in japan wont be bothered to ship it overseas. not long ago there was a r32 gts4 which no one bided on. there was no reserve so someone could have picked it up for around $500-$800 ( i forget the actual amount )

 ......Japan rims = $2900(and tyres Bridgestone RE040) .....ur selling for $3800(brand new tyres)....why isn't the japan rims/tyres cheap???

err ... cos the Japan rims are in Japan and mine are here in Aust with all the duties, taxes , shipping and middleman markup paid.

Find someone to buy em in Japan for you and send em down, you will find out :D

Ken

I'm currently waiting to see if I've won a set of wheels on the Yahoo Auction in Japan. The bidding closed about 4 hours ago and I was (... well I think I was) the highest bidder with 41,500Y. By the time they get here should cost about $1000 (If I've won them *fingers crossed*).

I'm able to do this thanks to J-SPEC Imports . Thanks heaps!!!!

They're 18 x 8 made by Rays Eng for a company called Brunt. Brand new as well...

BTW if u dont mind, how much is craige charging u to bring em here?

Just got word that they are now mine!!!! ;)

They came in at 56,500Y (~$832), transport in Japan is 14,500Y to make a grand total of 71,000Y(~$1045) FOB. GST looks like it'll be $80 odd, duty $130, and about $50-$150 for freight.

So it looks like a brand new set of Rays 18x8s will be mine for about $1400-$1500! Not bad considering they go for about $2500 normally!:D

easy, go to

www.altavista.com

then click translate, then in bottom part type in http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp

then change it to say japanese to english then gclick button, and your in, with english

This is certainly the way I've been doing it. But lately (ie ever since they revamped the look of the site) the translation page has been a bit farked (after you hit translate it just reloads the translation page). If you keep trying it usually works after a couple of goes tho.

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
