Thats all nintendo has.... Resident evil.. but things will be interesting to see how this handheld "war" turns out. I wont be getting niether consoles unless i borow it from any friends who do get it but SO far PSP seems to have better power behind it... but DC has nintendo on its side and nintendo allways have won in hanheld, sony and other componies like sega tried and lost :ghost: .

Nintendo will never lose their grip on the hand held market! Plus the DS is backwards compatible with GBA games. That's gotta be a pretty good incentive for GBA owners to upgrade. Plus Nintendo is INNOVATIVE, the DS could really change the way or create new ways for games to be played.... as soon as developers figure out how to take advantage of the features and provided they put them to good use. And Resident Evil being the only mature game on the Cube? What about Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime 1 & 2, Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, Soul Calibur 2... and yeah Resident Evil 4 will rock!

nintendo have already sold 2million + DS's . So its future is pretty well assured . The psp has an "average" battery life of 4 hours and reports are comming in of actual life of only 1.5 hours depending on the game .

back in the stone age days of gaming there was a big handheld war . Atari released the technically advanced Lynx . It had a large color backlit display , it had dual 16mhz 6052 processors , stereo sound , lots of custom chips similar to a commodor amiga . Its main competitor was the nintendo gameboy . It was 4 shade mono , non backlit , mono sound and a basic 8mhz z80 processor . not very impressive .

But the thing that killed the lynx was portability , it only lasted 4 hours on alkaline batterys , 1.5 on rechargables (dejavu here) and was quite large . certainly too big to fit in your pocket . The gameboy lasted 15+ hours on batteries , was small and had great games that were fun to play and fitted the portable format .

and we all know what happened to the gameboy . Few people remember the lynx .

the psp will do well no doubt , sony are already planning upgrades to its battery life (expensive hi capacity replacement batteries) and with the back catalog of ps2 games to port it should have no problems on that front .

but nintendo know how to do handhelds and with more than 2mil units shipped the DS is here for ever .

Also its a fairly advanced handheld by any measurement , about half way between a nintendo 64 and gamecube , dual processors , 3d accelerator . small , portable , good battery life and the touch screen .

im with u there arkon but i kinda disagree on the graphics being between 64 and gamecube, game cube have better graphics than the PS2 so id just keep the graphics at n64 stage, also many people have already preordered the DS and nintendo know how to control the handheld market, BUT nintendo has had very lousy competition what with the N-gage and all, Sony has been there biggest competitor since the PS and did you know that sony and nintendo teamed to make a console before the n64 and PS called the PSX (which has now been made by sony, i know) but it was going to be the shape of a PS but with cartriges, sony disliked the idea and go into a dispute about this, thats how they went there seperate ways (thats what i read in a game magazine) but yeh nintendo have never had a competitor like this before so it will be interesting to see how it unfolds

the ds is above n64 in terms of hardware specs , but your right probably not very close to the GC which is quite advanced . both portables will find their spot in the market easily , just dont write off the DS ! I could easily see a new psp version soon after the first release , with better battery life , perhaps less bulky . these are going to be sticking points for the psp vs the ds .

nintendo and microsoft are actually colaborating on the next gen nintendo revolution and xbox xeon . Both share the same new ibm tripple core 4ghz 64bit risc processor . Games will be extremely portable between both platforms . The idea is to finally end the dominance of sony when they release the ps3 . given the huge game catalog of the xbox , having thier next console almost compatable with it should boost their own catalog immedietly

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
