hehe... I think you'll find krzysiu is being sarcastic..

You picked up that little hint lol

And ~Hypnotik~ i find it REALLY hard to believe that a 140kw S13 can keep up with a HSV, ur dreaming... unless he had the pedal half way, then yeah of course u could.

No offence but i just cant believe that

Hey krzysiu, how do u think ur car would compare against a R33 GTR, since ur car has 250kw woud it be able to keep up, or maybe even come out in front.

:D

I have beaten a gt-r, but of course it led at the start (4WD) but i did pull in front. The thing is i know it was a stock gt-r cuz there is no way my car would beat a modded gt-r, ever lol. Cuz in the end of the day a GT-R is a GT-R

And the thing is we stopped at the speed limit (80Km/h) because i dont want a fine or a tree rammed up my arse...

Hey, I never said I bet any HSV's. I said I bet an SS, which is not a HSV. I don't really know much about Holdens, but I'm guessing the GENIII in the SS would be in a light state of tune compared to the HSV's.

For the record, I didn't beat the SS by much, just a bit more than a car length, but a win is still a win. It seems most (not all!) of the Commo drivers can't launch thier car well, but I guess that's where the weight differernce between the two cars come into play.

I know at the moment I would get whooped by a Clubsport or other new HSV, but meh, I'm not afraid to lose...

Ive a very lightly modded auto R32 GTSt (pod/exhaust/advanced timing/10psi), and have raced older 195kw and 225kw Commodores (The 225kw was an older model GTS with a few mods, dont know what actual power it was producing).

The SS (195kw) I out launched and just kept pulling away from, the GTS was alot more even, we raced 6 times in a row and I won 4 times (as in a bonnet length or more over him) up to 120km/hr before we backed off.

I also have a friend with a VXII Clubsport manual (255kw std, dynoed with filter/exhaust etc as 250rwkw), and upto 100km we are even or I am slightly ahead due to better launches, but after that he stomps all over me...

So I definately dont underestimate them, but would be interested to see his car versus a 25t with filter and exhaust from a rolling start, alot more even I would think.

In comparison I have raced 5-6 R33 Series 1s and 2s and never been beaten upto 100km/hr, but being auto I do have a pretty simple launch method that works quite well... Although I am on R33 rims with cruddy 205s

i havnet had any v8 problems. 0 to 100 in 4.88 with 172rwkw (non shootout mode)

97 gtst manual with powerfc, fmic, [email protected], 255s on the rear, full 3" exhaust from turbo back

I've raced 2 HSV's (the newer models).... both never got past the 60ft line before breaking something :D (yes it was legal drag racing at WSID).

so if anyone asks you can say i have beaten hsv's by close to 1000ft before i backed off... :headspin:

That would be a gt-r right? As Sub 5seconds is late model evo territory.

Having a shitload of power can be pretty useless if your racing on a track. Like Keichi Tsuchia says, it's all about balance. After watching some best motoring video where a 911 Turbo, 360 modena, R34 GTR, Evo, NSX and Corvette C5R duke it out on a track I wondered how a Holden or Ford would go against those beasts.....I doubt it would beat the Ferrari which came in last place even with a good driver :Bang:

Exactly.

Some people forget that Japanese performance cars are not about absolute power. While Ford and Holden fans seem to care about little else.

Japanese performance cars (i.e. Skylines) have the following strengths (kick me if I leave anything out):

Styling

Weight balance

Handling

Engineering

Well-performing engines

Nissan chose to make an RB26DETT. They could so easily have redesigned the engine to be an RB44DETT (or similar) to make pure power by just upping the displacement, but they chose not to.

well over $35K still for a 1999 HSV judging from autotrader.com.au.

Can import a 1990 R32 GTR for 18K - 19K or 26K for a very modded one, drop in another 10K in also doing the suspension.

Will i still need to drag a HSV to prove a point?

We got some pretty wild GTRS here in perth and i haven't heard any of them have problems with any model HSV.

Actually you'd be suprised.. the sr20det puts out about 150-160kw at the fly.. so I'm assuming hypnotik's talking rwkw, or doesnt actually know how much his s13 puts out.. (i'm assuming its an sr20det, if its a ca18det, then yes he probably is dreaming...)

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
