Hey guys,

Posting here because im sick of the comments i get about my car, specially from the general public.

Ok heres my rant!

Ive had my skyline since october, and only been drivin it the start of january, its a p plated car for your info. and ever since i got my car, i havent had shit but shit said about it! sure there are the good things, but the crap i cop at school and from the general public is just not worth it! :bs!:

For example, driving along, driving normal get flammed at by a middle aged lady calling me a hoon, driving a corolla! :flamed:

And today to top it off, a mate walks over to my car and finds that i have 3 eggs over the drivers side, on my FRESH new paint! its completly ****ed the paint, and is going to cost a decent amount to fix!

So what im basically saying is why do you guys keep your cars?? dont you find that the shit u cop isnt even worth having it anymore? I've been talked out of selling my car, but i think this time its just to much and i will most likly end up selling it in the comming weeks!

I wish it didnt have to come down to this, but what else can i do to protect it these days?? I thought where its parked at school was an alright spot, and no-one would do anything to it, but obviously not.

Sorry for the long post, i am just absolutly pissed off that i cant even have the car that i love!!! Its just too much of a hassle anymore..

Tell me your experiences with this type of shit!?

Dayne :flamed:

no offence but thats college for you... never have a good car at college their are to many tools who are envious that you have something better than they do. in regards to you getting bagged and having done nothing wrong. You should probably have figured that a skyline will draw attention to you usually the good sort but as you have even said you take the good with the bad. To top it off with all the shit the media has been saying about p platers in skylines i would almost be expecting it if i was you :( its sad to hear but the truth. ps i have not been abused yet i guess people just see the p plates and jump to conclusions.

only you can decide if you want to keep the car but you sound like you have put alot of hard work in so just keep that in the back of your mind when you make your decision. PS get like a protective monkey and teach it to catch the eggs and throw em back :(

even with a shitter at school, MINI worked. I had ppl moving it, stuffing up the paint all sorts of shit. Most ppl of that age are dickheads (mostly footy heads) of ppl who have penis enve

it shits me to that i cant leave my car any where and not worry about some, di(k hitting it, because its better then there commm crap

mostly footy heads

bahaha welcome to erindale college :(

to add to my first post my datsun 260z got shaving creme put on the bonnet and boot as a smiley face as i was pissing people off with silly string :( didnt realise but yea it also fades the paint really bad. so if you notice anything on your car i now know wash it off straight away

As said above, youre at college and youre going to get shit from people who are envious of you having such a nice car. Id put my money on that whoever egged it was someone from your school.

As for comments, a few weeks after EVL-R34 crashed I was at my local servo buying ciggerettes and as I was going back to the car some mid 40s wanker decides to turn to me and shake his head saying "****ing unsafe cars, youre probably going to be next...". Just take comments like that on the chin, you bought the car for YOU to enjoy, not for everyone else to judge you on. Their opinion is worth a grain of salt, or thats how I see it at least.

The choice to keep your car is ultimately yours, but it sounds like you have invested quite alot of money into it and it is one of the better examples of an R33 I have seen. Id personally keep it but not drive it to school. It seems to be the way with skylines, alot of people will not drive them unless they have somewhere secure to park it, including me. Have a long hard think about it, but my advice is dont let some old ****wits comments and some jealous haters ruin your love for the car.

Sorry to hear that mate. If its any consulation one of my best mates has been building a car for a couple of years now. It was about two weeks away from being completed when last week some tossers kicked down his garage door when he wasnt home and stole gauges and a stereo from the dash. The dash was a custom Autometer unit costing 4k. The dash is now fcuked and he is put back another six months while he saves to complete the car. The car will no doubt have to be moved to another location. He is even considering selling the thing. Bastards!

We copped a lady in a small hatchback beeping at us @ the museum on the weekend. She couldnt wait 2 seconds for us to move the cars. I could see what she was thinking "bloody hoons". What she didnt know was that we were raising money for a very good cause, she probably hasnt lifted a finger to help. Its that kind of narrow minded people that we can do without.

Dont worry about what other people think mate. You own a nice car, look after it and drive it responsibly give imports a good name. If you can its a good idea to get some driver training if your on your Ps. If you can afford it, practise days out at Wakefield will really show your cars limits and more importantly your own.

Rant over :(

Thanks guys for being so understanding, i duno wat to do right now, dads going into school tomorrow to see if it can be somewhere else on school grounds not around it (st edmunds college)

Butit just hurts and hurts as i've just had to spend money on 4 new wheels, and now this... its going to be close to 3000$ spent on it in a week! less then infact!

I havent even got the wheels yet, im just waiting for approvals n stuff, n it just puts me back further n further, and i was hoping to do some small mods to it soon aswell, and now i just cant afford to... i work my arse off and trying to balance yr11 with it is hard enough as it is, and all my money goes to, is the shit that jealous fc%ks do to it!

i dont wana sell it, but i duno wat i can do about it either!!! everytime i hop in it, all i can do is smile... but yet i dont know if its worth it just to keep it, its been my dream for along time too and i have been working along time just to have it! but sure as hell, the wallet has felt it ever since i baught it...

Dayne

I went to eddies as well, the only place is in the teachers or in the gym carpark, but up there you run into ppl hitting the cars with balls and shit. The other place is across the road (canberra ave) in that dirt carpark next to aviss building (thats not the spelling but you get idea) hope you find somewhere, I know what ppl are like at that school, rich boy pricks and if they cant have it they will break it.

Its only bad because every little shit decides a key mark would look nice here, or an egg mark would look good there, and then the birds liek to do shits here n there on them...]

its all too much, think i really just either need to sell it, and forget about it till im outa school and get something less attention seeking, or buy a little gay v8 holden/ford ute so i fit in with all the bogans n have my skyline as weekender..

Your on the ball snooze, might park right out the front of the school in that little 'U' bit, ive got permission to park there now anyway, but ***in shit school i knew i should of never gone there!!! i really regret it now, but its too late to change!

The school got egged too, but cos of where i park (across the oval) its so easy for people to drive by, my car out of all of them (damn it why couldnt they egg the little shitbox old cars) got targetted! presuming its because its the only nice on there n theyre just jealous ****s!!!

Dayne

eddies is not that bad well it wasnt when i was there, I still had a bit of freedom and got away with what ever I wanted, like being drunk in class and stuff, I wouldnt try that any one. Some of my friends were smoking a j in ther middle of class (sience)

lol eddies sucks the rod big time!! but yeh there are pricks at school and most footy heads too. we cant do that sh!t at school anymore sean we get in the shyt, thats why i wanna go to bunda!!! and if my mate who lives in bungandore got in then i think i have a fighting chance!!, anyway back on topic. do what you like dayne its your life, but as you said maybe it is safer to buy a line when school has finished so then not everyone is doin shyt to it. remember alot of people from school know you have a skyline so it couldve been anyone maybe even that smart ass new kid, who knows, but yeh maybe it is safer to get a line after college (and if you save maybe enough to get a gtr?)

maybe that gus ki...i mean erm maybe that bus hit it

keep it man, u have worked for it and deserve it. even if its only for weekend/after school use who cares. i sure as hell wont be driving my line to collage (seeing as ill be at erinale and all) it'll only be for after school and wekends.

KEEP IT

Im certain its either a guy with a certain problem who has threatened my car before, but i dont know if he is dumb enough?? good thing is i know where he drives n hes about ALL the time, plus his car stands out from the rest and there is few of them in canberra, beau, its not an inside job, it was a driveby, it was either the guys who egged eddies at the same time (which dep head knows who they are) and theyre in big shit, or its the other guy...

I'll find out.. just wait n see!

Angus, as much as i want too, i really just have to think this out myself, at the end of it, if i sell it, i will make sure i get something just as good!! promise!!

Anyways, im going to try get a GTR by the end of year 12 anyways man!!!

its gota be a nissan, cant be a traitor

    • The average previous owner for these cars were basically S-chassis owners in the US. Teenagers or teenager-adjacent. I often tell people that neglect is easier to fix than something that was actively "repaired" by previous owners.
    • Update 3: Hi all It's been a while. Quite a lot of things happened in the meantime, among other things the car is (almost) back together and ready to be started again. Things that I fixed or changed: Full turbo removal, fitting back the OEM turbo oil hardlines. Had to do quite a bit of research and parts shopping to get every last piece that I need and make it work with the GT2860 turbos, but it does work and is not hard to do. Proves that the previous owner(s) just did not want to. While I was there I set the preload for the wastegates to 0,9bar to hopefully make it easier for the tuner to hit the 370hp I need for the legal inspections that will follow later on. Boost can always go up if necessary. Fitted a AN10 line from the catch can to the intake hose to make the catchcan and hopefully the cam covers a slight vacuum to have less restrictive oil returns from the head and not have mud build up as harshly in the lines and catch can. Removed the entire front interior just shy of the dashboard itself to clean up some of the absolutely horrendous wiring, (hopefully) fix the bumpy tacho and put in LED bulbs while I was there. Also put in bulbs where there was none before, like the airbag one. I also used that chance to remove the LED rpm gauge on the steering column, which was also wired in absolute horror show fashion. Moved the 4in1 Prosport gauge from sitting in front of the OEM oil pressure gauge to the center console vents, I used a 3D printed vent piece to hold that gauge there. The HKB steering wheel boss was likely on incorrectly as I sometimes noticed the indicator reset being uneven for left vs. right. In the meantime also installed an airbag delete resistor, as one should. Installed Cube Speed premium short shifter. Feels pretty nice, hope it'll work great too when I actually get to drive. Also put on a fancy Dragon Ball shift knob, cause why not. My buddy was kind enough to weld the rust hole in the back, it was basically rusted through in the lowermost corner of the passenger side trunk area where the wheel arch, trunk panel and rear quarter all meet. Obviously there is still a lot of crustiness in various areas but as long as it's not rusted out I'll just treat and isolate the corrosion and pretend it's not there. Also had to put down a new ground wire for the rear subframe as the original one was BARELY there. Probably a bit controversial depending on who you ask about this... but I ended up just covering the crack in the side of the engine block, the one above the oil feed, with JB Weld. I used a generous amount and roughed up the whole area with a Dremel before, so I hope this will hold the coolant where it should be for the foreseeable future. Did a cam cover gasket job as the half moons were a bit leaky, and there too one could see the people who worked on this car before me were absolute tools. The same half moons were probably used like 3 times without even cleaning the old RTV off. Dremeled out the inside of the flange where the turbine housing mates onto the exhaust manifolds so the diameter matches, as the OEM exhaust manifolds are even narrower than the turbine housings as we all know. Even if this doesn't do much, I had them out anyways, so can't harm. Ideally one would port-match both the turbo and the manifold to the gasket size but I really didn't feel up to disassembling the turbine housings. Wrapped turbo outlet dumps in heat wrap band. Will do the frontpipe again as well as now the oil leak which promted me to tear apart half the engine in the first place is hopefully fixed. Fitted an ATI super damper to get rid of the worn old harmonic balancer. Surely one of the easiest and most worth to do mods. But torquing that ARP bolt to spec was a bitch without being able to lock the flywheel. Did some minor adjustments in the ECU tables to change some things I didn't like, like the launch control that was ALWAYS active. Treated rusty spots and surface corrosion on places I could get to and on many spots under the car, not pretty or ideal but good enough for now. Removed the N1 rear spats and the carbon surrounding for the tailpipe to put them back on with new adhesive as the old one was lifting in many spots, not pretty. Took out the passenger rear lamp housing... what do you know. Amateur work screwed me again here as they were glued in hard and removing it took a lot of force, so I broke one of the housing bolts off. And when removing the adhesive from the chassis the paint came right off too. Thankfully all the damaged area won't be visible later, but whoever did the very limited bodywork on this car needs to have their limbs chopped off piece by piece.   Quite a list if I do say so myself, but a lot of time was spent just discovering new shit that is wrong with the car and finding a solution or parts to fix it. My last problem that I now have the headache of dealing with is that the exhaust studs on the turbo outlets are M10x1.25 threaded, but the previous owner already put on regular M10 nuts so the threads are... weird. I only found this out the hard way. So now I will just try if I can in any way fit the front pipe regardless, if not I'll have to redo the studs with the turbos installed. Lesson learned for the future: Redo ALL studs you put your hands on, especially if they are old and the previous owners were inept maniacs. Thanks for reading if you did, will update when the engine runs again. Hope nothing breaks or leaks and I can do a test drive.
