well as long as the flange is the right size i think we can deal with doing some braded line work

what kind of PSI are we talking about insode the oil/water lines?

also i don't know much about turbo's mate - when you say 0.82 A/R that means?

as long as it bolts on fine - i'm confident we can get the line work done

Cool, I'll find out what I can

The water lines are only gonna be around 15-17 PSI.

The oil lines I think are only feed. I don't know if they are under pressure, if they are...it will be engine oil pressure.

between 20-60 PSI depending on revs.

'A/R is the ratio of the exhaust housing refering to the size and shape of the scroll that is cast into the housing. It determines how restrictive the housing will be, versus how quickly the turbine will spin up. A lower A/R ratio results in a more restrictive housing. This restriction speeds up the exhaust gasses and increases the amount that the gasses will expand. It's the speed and expansion of the gasses that causes the turbine to spin. So with a low A/R ratio, the turbine will spin up quicker, but as engine output and rpms increase, the restriction of the housing begins to build up too much back pressure on the engine, which reduces performance. A good rule of thumb for when there is too much back pressure is when the pressure in the exhaust manifold is more than half of the pressure in the cylinder. So basically, a larger A/R ratio will improve your engine's top end, while losing some mid range power and increasing turbo lag. A smaller A/R ratio will help the bottom and mid-range, but may effect the top end.'

0.82 is a large size.

0.60 - 0.80 is usually good for the mid range stuff edging towards top end power. When they start going over 1 is when you get large amounts of lag. But you would compensate for this by using a Ball bearing turbo which helps to counter the lag effect. You can successfully eliminate extra lag by choosing the correct combination.

has anyone recieved any turbos from this guys and have any comments about them?

Thanks. I'm looknig for a turbo to buy right now.

probably 450hp - 500hp, T3 Flange, with a .63ar Exhaust housing.

I don't like your chances of being able to get anything rated to that hp with a 0.63A/R. I'll do my best.

Is there any reason for wanting the 0.63A/R?

You are really limited in your choices for the T3 flange also.

You would probably have to go with something like what I described above.

A T04 with a V1 compressor trim and the P turbine trim with a 0.82 A/R to achieve those hp ratings.

You might be able to play with a few options on the T3 housing to squeeze a little more out of it but I'll have to check with the supplier to make sure.

I'll see if they can do a 0.63A/R T3 flange on a turbo rated at 450hp. If not, have you considered going for something like a twin ball bearing GT25 or something that will be better suited?

You could also wait a couple of months as Garrett is bringing out some more designs in the T3 configuration. So then you would be able to get a GT25 440hp with a T3 flange. Now wouldn't that be nice.

Hi Daniel and thanks for the turbo price, would recomend these turbos to all sua members as I have seen the quailty of the work.

No worries mate. Glad I could help. My other supplier has been really slack with those gaskets so I am going to try direct with ACL tomorrow hopefully. It's been two weeks and all they say is....oh, we haven't had time to ring. Bullcrap! I even reminded them twice. I might also try coventry or someone else like that. Anyway...I'll let you know how I go.

hi daniel, just wondering what a turbo off a HR31 silver top motor is, and how much 1 would cost??

MY BAD!!!!! i ask in the forced induction section about this and the silver top rb20 motor only came out in the R32 gtst. doh! anyway, its for a mate he has a toyota sprinter with a 4agze turbo conversion and he needs a new turbo bcoz his one is blown, the turbo he has on it was off a rb20 silvertop but he told me they were out of a HR31 obviously he got mixed up. So i remembered this post so i though id try and get a price for him and see if hes keen. ok. thanx again for ya help with it. looking on google atm. will post again if i find out what type it is ok. i was told it could be a T25BB but not 100% sure. 4 bolt flange.

Definately not a BB. That would mean it is a ball bearing. The only skyline I think is the 34 which has the bb turbo. As for the silver top turbo, I have a blown one which I could have fixed for you. I would want $1100 with it fixed. It is a hi-flow and has supported me to roughly 215 RWKW. If you want a 360 degree thrust put in, then I think it will be slightly dearer but not much. Let me know if he is interested. When it is fixed, the only parts that won't be brand new will be the exhaust and compressor housings. The rest including wheels, shaft and cartridge will all be brand new.

Are any details available about the new T3 flange options ? The aftermarket is crying out for things like a T3 flanged .86AR housing for the NS111 turbine (GT2530 , GT28RS etc) . We also badly need some integral gate GT30 and GT35 T3 flange housings .

Thanks A .

Discopotato03: My supplier has told me a couple of months. But we all know how accurate that could be. Companies like Garrett can say 2 months but it will take them 3 or 4. All I can say is they are on their way and they aren't too far off now.

Gatty: I have been told that he will not just do the seals. All turbo's that come through him are to have a full service kit and balanced. The reason for this is quality of workmanship. He is the best I know and his work is proof of that. He said it will set you back around $550 as long as there is no other problems with turbines or housings.

Pentae: Sorry but that info is privileged. All I can say is that he is an authorised Garrett dealer. The turbos are all brand new. You won't be able to achieve cheaper prices without going through me. If you can get a cheaper price elsewhere, AND CAN PROOVE IT, then I will TRY to beat it.

The other thing I would like to note is that if you live on the Gold or sunshine coasts or in Brisbane/Ipswich or somewhere local to brisbane then I will deliver the turbo in person. And I can arrange a COD if you feel untrusting.

Got a quote tonight to do the braided lines.

Both water lines and the oil supply line including fittings, bolts and washers all custom made.....$100-$120

He shoots....he scores! I am really happy with the amount of service I have been getting from our local businesses. This guy finished work at 5 and drove out to my place to look at what I needed to do the job. Not many people are willing to do this these days.

Therefore, a big praise and plug goes out to Bayside Hose and Fittings. 07-3286 9354 They are located in Shore street Cleveland. 20 years in the industry.

Hey mate.

Just curious as to why you say the High Flow's are only 300hp when GCG and a few other places all quote there turbos at 450hp?

Just did a bit of a serch and a lot of people are getting 230-250rwkw's out of there high flows... Sydney Kid being the exception with 264kw

Also Does it matter if I get a R32 turbo highflowed instead of a R33 one (if cost is a huge difference between the two)?

as I will be buying a 2nd hand turbo and getting that done so I can bolt it on when I have all of my parts ready to go.

I am looking to upgrade the turbo in the next month or so. Just waiting on the bank balance to rise just a touch more.

Thanks mate

How much horsepower/kilowatts do you want? 230rwkw

What are you using the car for? eg. Street/drag

When do you want boost roughly? coming on from 2200...full @ 4000

Do you want power early or late in the rev range? mid-late - i dont mind a Little lag if if will give a better top end hit...must last to redline

What Mods you engine has or is going to have including computers or exhaust etc.? zorst, intake, FMIC, fuelpump, injectors, probably a power fc, possibly cams

Obviously, what car? S13 with a RB20DET

Intercooled? and is it large, small, medium? medium at his stage....VR4 cooler - apprantly flows enough for 230rwkw

Still running AFM or upgraded or no longer there? stock Rb20 80mm AFM

Custom exhaust manifold or standard? (custom exhaust manifolds give you more options) stock manifold - as below....preffered stock but non stock if price is right

External wastegate or internal(limited to virtually 450hp - internal gate preferred but external if price is right

thx jason ;)

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
