Since the last street meet was a wash out, i'm aiming to get out there next Wednesday 9th March instead - hopefully the weather holds out and I can get close to posting a mid 13 this time round :)

Anyone else interested in going??

On a side note, I read in some WSID newsletter that got sent the other day that they are now supposedly separating V8's from Sport Compact class cars (i.e 4's, 6's and Rotaries) at their street meets. I guess this explains why I was always in the same lane in pre-staging the other week...

Additionally, I also read that you can reserve a staging lane (typically for car clubs etc) if you want to pair off amongst yourselves during the night. I'm not sure if this has always been the case, but even so, it would be an interesting night if we could get a large group of Skylines (or imports) facing off throughout the night. If there's any interest, maybe we could look to organise something in the upcoming months...when it gets a little cooler:)

Hope to meet some of you out there next Wednesday.

Brenden.

I was bummed about last night as well...Let's hope the heaven's are nice to us next week...

I heard last time I was out there that even if you get a car club to WSID one night, you just let the guys know & they'll try to set up the drags to comply with club...I was impressed... :headspin:

Anyways, don't know who you guys are but I might meet some of you out there...

hmmm....better go out and have a go before the semester gets too hectic....and before I get some more power

most probably spectate though....check it out first.

What time do I need to be there by ?

Scrutineering starts at 5pm if you're racing...with racing starting from 6pm.
You racing or spectating, Richard?

interesting question...

my helmet mysteriously found it's way into my car so I guess I'd better spectate, as I'd look like a bit of a tool sitting in the stands with a helmet on

one question. Does anyone have a tyre pressure gauge I could borrow? I have a really nice snap-on one that a friend bought me for my birthday, but I can't for the life of me find it :P

anyway, if anyone who's coming could bring one with them, please pm me and I'll give you my mobile number.

I'm not going - ran out of time chasing burnout rubber for Powercruise.

oi can any1 get the photos of my car from the lady with the yellow wagon, rego EAV00L

there 10 bux each but ill fix you up if you can buy them 4 me

Call Peter Colburn (The guy with the yellow mazda wagon with the photos) on 42617793 and ask him to send you the photos COD. Much easier.

Adrian

Bit of an up an down night for me...

Did set a PB on the one run I got a sub 2.3 60' time which is good (considering the crappy tyres I've got), but the knock reading on my PFC went through the roof on the next run, so I decided to park it and spectate for the rest of the night. Tuner will be getting a phone call tomorrow...

In detail,

R/T: .369

60': 2.289

330': 6.014

660': 9.017

mph: 82.59

1000': 11.604

ET: 13.783

MPH: 103.48

Saw quite a few nice Skylines out there tonight...a white R33 GTST running mid 11's and 2 nice looking GTR's caught the eye. Sorry I didn't catch up with any of you...spent half the night with my girlfriend and parents who decided to come and watch at the last minute.

I only did 1 run tonight. Had trouble engaging 2nd and 3rd gear so I parked it for the tonight and will be visiting the mechanic tomorrow.

It drives perfect on the street and circuit but lately doesn't like being dumped at 5,000rpm 5x in a nite :P

Good to see a couple of new GTR faces out there :)

Good to see Benm and NXTIME out there.

I got a few runs in, and managed a 13.010 at 103 mph. Car ran as high as 108mph so when I learn to pilot it better I should be able to get the 12.XXX I want.

Was great fun to line up against nick and FTR we came off 1 win each :P

Mason mate. I take it you have the PFC in monitor mode with the peak hold switched on? You will find that the huge knock reading is from when you started the car with the peak hold still on. try this. switch car on, turn on peak hold, turn car off, now turn car back on and you'll see knock of like 80+. clear the peak hold (but leave it on) and now do a run. My worst knock reading was 30 something and that's with a 7000rpm launch...

    • Maybe it's time for a M3 F80 LCI, and leave it stock.  Drive it to a shop, sip on your latte with nutmeg whilst it gets serviced and on the way home swing by and grab some chai mix for the evening.
    • Great work! Thanks for documenting the process.
    • How would you even adjust the clutch if the pedal already has the correct free play? The operating cylinder has no adjustment in mounting position or rod length. On pull style clutches there is also no ability to adjust the bearing carrier. Push type I can see how adjusting the carrier height makes it all work.   If this is the twin plate clutch did you verify that your friction disks were oriented correctly? It's not mentioned in the directions at all you just have to notice that one side the friction disks have a part number on the hub fingers and a subtle coning to those fingers. Another thing that I noticed was if you put the friction disks in backwards the pressure plate fingers will not be even and flat when the clutch is installed.
    • yeah, mechanically, it is probably do-able, off the top of my head, there would be the transfer case, which I believe will bolt up to the rear of the RWD transmission, the shorter rear tail shaft. A front drive shaft, front diff, engine upper sump, front drive shafts, front hubs and front AWD struts (they are shaped around the front drive shafts), LCAs (at the very least from the front suspension) oil cooler.  You might want the rear diff from an AWD too, so you can be certain the front and rear diff rations are identical.  Who knows what brackets and mounts you might need.  So a whole doner car might be the best option if you need to maintain RHD. Then actually making it work, that would be a whole different story.
