Well see the post about Autosalon for show/n/shine

We don't drift, but normally a pack of us head out to watch the Mallala drift days

We have only had one track day and will have another near the end of winter this year (with any sort of luck) - after we get oil coolers (since last time we went out an engine was blown due to oil temp/starvation, a turbo fried from the same, and my oil temp went through 230 degrees)

But mostly we just hang out and cruise occasionally. Not a particularly active club I'm afraid, but we do get together for a dinner every 3 months or so. Unfortunately the aggressive activites and tactics from the cops has put most of us on the back foot and cruises have dried up lately. Last cruise I went on the cops blocked off the 2 entrances to the carpark about 150 cars were occupying on a stop, and proceeded to thoroughly check every car and issue a huge pile of defect notices. This wasn't an SAU cruise, but was attaneded by quite a few SAU people.

Just keep checking this forum for events in general

yep I vote Guy to organise it - as it seems I am so crap at organising events :P - and yes, definitely no 1st weekend of April, as that is the big Victor Harbour cruise and Go-Karting!!!

I remember the old House of Khans on Montague Rd - great food .... is this place the same - you pick your ingredients and flavouring/spices then they cook it on a big round plate in front of you? Yummmmmmmmmmmmmm! I haven't been to Gengis Khan for ages also, so looking forward to this if its the same.

  • 3 weeks later...

Not really, no curry here.

I have organised a price of $20 per person for the banquet. Normally its $22.50.

The days available are Sunday through to Thursday night.

If we get more than 6 people maybe we can get it down to $19.

And a few jugs of softdrink on the house for the SAU table worth $6.50 each.

Not its just a matter to choose a date that everyone is cool with.

Will

sorry to sound like a jessica simpson, but is mongolian similar to indian?

Its a bit like a BBQ/stir fry - but the contents are selected by you.

Last time I went all the basic ingredients are prepared in separate bays, (pre cut and ready to cook) and you pick out the bits you want (i.e. beef, chicken, carrots, cabbage, etc, etc) you then add the sauces you want (can be hot and spicy through to mild and sweet)

Take it over to the cooks who cook it on a great big shield/hot plate and your done. For cops like me a benefit is that you can go back again and again and again and try all kinds of combinations.

    • I mean I agree. I've seemingly never had issues and I have RS4's in the rain, but I drive pretty slow in the rain, and I commute around on the street and pretty much never push it. But it's not like you're going to uncontrollably slide off the street with them in the rain. At least here in Aus. And I say this before I drive to Tassie in Winter. AS above, the term "Semi" is a bit of a misnomer. The ContiSportContact7 is also a "Semi" or a "UHP" tyre. It's the same category as an AD09 in any case.
    • These are not semis. None of the tyres in that comparo are semis. They are UHP tyres. Perfectly streetable. I'm on my second set of AD09, after using a couple of sets of AD08R. On the street. Every day. I get 15-20 thousand km out of them, which is perfectly acceptable. They are a really nice tyre to drive on. I have few, if any, complaints.
    • You'd hope, if it came from ACS, that it wouldn't be that.
    • Or the brand new throwout may be unhappy...
    • Thanks for the linkie. Certainly always a great deal of help when people post comparisons like these, but I think for now I'll stay away from any semi slicks. I did go ahead and order the sportcontact 7. My buddy has them on his modified A4 and he keeps saying how good they are. For my intended purposes these will probably work real well. I'll report on them once I had the chance to try them out
