yeah in your case a defect would be getting off lightly. the gasses released from ordinary wet-cell batteries are explosive, so it probably wasn't too bad an idea anyway for an in-cabin/boot mounted battery....

the guy over at battery factory in fyshwick (bruce? from memory) is really good! how much you end up paying??

d

A shade over $500 i think, had it done just a few days after my first post.

As for the old battery, don't wet cell batteries generate hydrogen? hydrogen + enclosed space + spark = Hindenburg. Don't want that in my boot. It was an NRMA guy that installed the old battery too, didn't bat an eyelid when he put it in the boot all exposed. And i didn't know any better at the time.

yeah go the optima djhatton i use the D34 and its worth EVERY cent.. iv heard a few bad storys about the odessey's some ppl say all they need is to be drained fully every six month as its better for them and they will last u long time,

but i havent heard a bad thing from optima yet and im a happy customer

    • Unless you're fortunate enough to buy a newer car, getting an older style plate to match your name/car is difficult because they've already been purchased.  Unlike other countries, personalised plates are locked to the country and not region, so there can't be multiple versions of the same plate but with a different area code.  Hope that helps

    • That's why I said it is a meaningless term. Because there is more than one meaning that people can apply to it. When we said "highflow", that is exactly what we mean, and exactly what is done. In a highflow, they take your housing and machine them out to take bigger wheels, have a better internal profile, etc etc, and fit a new core with the different/better/bigger wheels.
