Abo Bob: the link doesn't work.

lwells, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

My home computers IP address seems to have been banned for no reason I can fathom, so I would like to know what's going on :)

LW.

Sorry mate. All it is is a few people saying how their IP address is banned and discussing why that might be. Some suggested TPG but my gf works at a corporate in Sydney which I wouldn't expect to be using TPG and she has the same issue.

Hi Tony,

Could you do me a favour?  For some stupid reason my IP address has been banned from SAU sometime over the weekend.  Given my computer was switched off over the weekend I find it hard to believe this is anything but a mistake on the part of a moderator.

Could you possibly PM one of the mods on SAU (because no one seems to be answering the SAU email addresses) and ask WTF is going on? :(

Username is (obviously) lwells and my IP is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Thanks,

Lucien.

Could you guys follow this one up?

T.

Please be aware that a little turd has been registering SAU accounts and sending PM's to people like this one;

The user has now forced us to disallow any registrations from the @westnet.com.au domain as talks with the ISP have not resolved anything. If you have an @westnet.com.au email address and would like to become a member, please use the contact form to get a hold of me.

I apologise for any inconvenience and hope that this little idiot realises that nobody likes him or finds him entertaining.

Christian

I understand the above however my gf is at a corporate domain in sydney and has a banned IP address.

Exactly.

I have nothing to do with Westnet -- I am on Telstra Bigpond Cable in NSW -- and my IP address has been banned. I should point out I can (obviously) log in to my account from other IP addresses, hence the ban is not connected to accounts but to IP addresses.

I'm guessing a moderator/admin banned (either wittingly or unwittingly) an entire range of IP addresses. Either way, it would be nice if someone could actually look in to this *hint hint*. :(

LW.

I hear it's something to do with a firewall SAU has.

If it was a firewall or an htaccess file setting, you (and I) would be blocked before we saw a VBulletin page: ie. not webpage would be served.

We are being served the page which suggests its a setting within VB.

LW.

well I just tried checking the database that SAU forums use. It seems like the servername has changed.

as for firewall, about 2 months ago the server got a firewall installed, and since then, the IPs of people have always been 192.168.x.x ie the forum software couldn't see past the firewall. To get around this I made a script that checks the forwarded IP instead of the addressed IP. I'll disable this mod and see if you can access it tonight.

    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
    • Ah coolant overflow, previous discussions make way more sense now lol.
    • ok. Yea, then I would need to remove the turbo and weld an adapter on to it instead, if I fuc* this one up.
    • No. Only for a standard ECU with/without Nistune. Standalone has no need for it. That's like the 3rd time I've said so.   And as to that sensor linked - yes, it does look like it would be the right one. I've never bothered to see how available they were - just assumed that they'd be hard to find. I think I'd be planning to go Link ECU rather than buy sensors I don't actually want to make Nistune work, if I did not already have Nistune. As you do not already have Nistune, you should realy consider your options.
