Alrighty, lets say the 8th :) that'll give me some time to sort some stuff out as well ;)

so, back to destinations and travel paths then...

I like the sound of this:

Your best bet is just to skip the Akuna Bay section and just go vai McCarrs Creek rd and then through Bayview to Newport then palm beach.

The BEST section of that whole area is coming back from Bayview through Mc Carrs Creek rd. Once you pass the intersection of McCarrs Creek rd and West Head Rd, the road is all 2nd, 3rd gear uphill tight bends.

Although, i have no idea how to get there and round that way... CWest; will you be attending? or who else knows that way quite well?

Where's a good meet point for people? I know I and a few others will travel from the Hornsby area...

I really should finish the cruise database i'm making. I think it would make all our lives easier, just think of it.... a db where u can search by destination.... hightlights or even road condition and it supplies u with a list of possible options and a map when u select one.

Well enough of me pulling my own chain.... this all sounds great... keep me updated.

Well i live just around that area and also do most of my fishing in that area so yeah i know it pretty well. The 8th should be OK so ill most probably turn up.

As for meeting up well up to you. For people coming from Hornsby and or Strathfield your best bet would be to meet up at St Ives at the Maccas or something like that since thats were the 2 roads meet up.

Ok, well before i start listing it in the events section, lets get the details finalised ;)

So lets say:

8th April:

Palm Beach vai McCarrs Creek rd and then through Bayview to Newport.

Meet point would ideally be St Ives Maccas at 9pm for a 9:45pm departure.

How's that with everyone....?

Palm beach is a nice destination, but bare in mind the police will be watching you from the minute you reach pittwater road.

We have a good reputation down that way and normally the only attention we get is a drive by and quick check on our movements by a patrol car and thats it.

Take it very easy down there, there are enough commodore driving morons hooning around there as it is so drive sensibly and dont do anything stupid ;)

Also, the road to westhead is a good road, but not for the inexperienced driver. That section of road and Mccarrs Creek road have claimed more skylines than I care to remember . Mostly drivers who push themselves or their cars just that little bit to far.

Yes you are correct Blitz its a good fun road but driving through it should be done sensibly.

As long as the leading car goes at an appropriate pace im sure they wont suffer any casualties.

OKAY!!! :)

Check it out and post your interest. :D

Thanks for all the help with organising guys, we may still need a leader with solid knowledge of the area on the night, we'll see how i'm travelling sooner to the date :D

See you all there!

Dave.

    • Nope.    Grab a varex and turn it down as you get close to home, win win?
    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
