ah not happy jan our rollout yesterday did not go as planned as it in it has taken us alot longer than we expected so much so that we all need to go back in today so will not be able to make it sorry guys was really looking forward to watching this.

Just posted on Valvebounce.com:

"OK:a great day was had by all,I reckon! Aside from some minor technical hiccups, all went well, with some really good times set and some decent battles being raced on the track... Everyone seemed to be in high spirits, with no major carnage(well,race_snooze & Jester had a fair coming together)and everyone dealt well with the intermitent showers. Of the top qualifiers,Dan' was "the man" with a blistering 26.64,and wound up taking out the "A" final with a 27.03 on a damp track. Most will know cart # 11 was THE one to have, and it just might've helped in Dan's domination of the timesheets... In the "B" final,Anthony took line honours with a 31.02(in cart #11...!).As for how each club went, here's each club and the positions their members finished in:

Syndicate:7th,9th,16th and 17th

ACT WRX:4th,6th,8th13th and 15th

SAU:10th,18th and 19th

Valvebounce.com:1st,3rd and 11th

REact:2nd,5th and 12th

and, last but not least:VMPCA:14th and "too busy to drive,'cause I'm writing as fast as I can"...LOL! Actually,I did a 27.37 at one point there;a new P.B. for me,so next time,LOOK OUT,you lot! Strangely,Glenn went faster than me earlier in the day,but a damp track obviously took the edge off his times, too!

All in all,I think we're all a bunch of fairly competitive people(with James from SAU taking time off from being serious to throw in a display of "Dorifto"),and I'll put it out there to all:do you want ALL the times and positions listed,or would you rather a discreet PM?"

I WAS THE FASTEST SAU DRIVER!!!! I only did a 27.74 though (pathetic seeing as my P.B is 27.11) but it was in a slower kart.

It was a really fun day and it got even more fun when the rain came! James is such a show off (I wish I could drift as good as him).

I have to say that I was dissapointed at not getting a quick kart all day, but I had fun anyway... When the next one comes around and I DO get one of the quick karts = Watch out Jayce!

I have to say thanks once again to Jayce and Glenn for organising such a good event, I also have to say to all the people who didnt turn up (Frink, etc...) YOU MISSED OUT, PIKERS!!!! Hehehehe :)

Who else feels like they have gone 10 rounds with Tyson?

Thanks to Jayce and Erica for the time recording and organisation skills. Couldn't have done it without them.

BTW - I officially suck at the karts, Dan from valvebounce.com ran out the winner! woohoo! Next time SAU, next time. ;)

    • I certainly fall into the annoyed camp, but glad to hear that if it's happening at low boost then I'm not likely going to blow a turbo and end up with metal shards in my oil. Just feels like it prevents me from really driving it without hesitation and "peak" performance. Wonder if it's the VCAM, it did an impressive job of shifting the torque curve and faster spool, but maybe now it's "too fast" and there's too much air for how open the throttle is.  Based on some other threads, will also do some reading on synchronizing the actuators. They are the default actuators that come on the Garrett's and I would think they would be set the same coming from the factory, but if the turbos don't actually work exactly the same way at the same time as previously mentioned, it would be worth making sure the actuators are actuating together properly
    • I went down this rabbit hole before, ended up sourcing a motor from the UK (I'm in Japan) which also didn't function correctly. With the original motor, I disassembled it and reassembled it and it works somewhat, sometimes. What I could deduce from all my screwing around is that there is calibration of the gears on the inside of the motor and two ramps on the main gear which activate switches that operate the motor and move the sunroof either to retract into the roof or tilt. Where I got stuck was that, it seemed in my case that one or both of the switches that are activated by the ramp on the gear did not always activate and thus the motor did not move, causing it to sometimes not retract or tilt (apologies, I've forgotten which way it didn't work.).  Of course this part is discontinued at Nissan now, it's the same part in the S15 but no other models. I also contacted the manufacturer of the component for schematics - forgot the name, they're based in Gifu - but they declined to share the information due to being bound by an NDA, sadly. Looking through my pictures now, it seems I last had a crack at this in 2022. See, I so kindly wrote "open" and "close" next to the switches. If you figure it out, please do tell me. Those little switches, with the red buttons may need to be replaced.
    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
