hi everyone,

i almost had my car broken into today, someone attempted to break the lock but was distracted, by a mate who lives across the road. My mate said, there have been people looking into my car and walking around it everyday. I have a 3point imoboliser, but i feel tat is not enough, my r33 is my daily driver and i do not want to get a cheap run around car.

What does everyone suggest i do, so i can protect my car from further damage or even theft.

thanks for your input.

Hey mate, what area is this in? ie suburb? To protect your car, you can use visual deterents such as club locks... Alternatively, you can purchase a wheel lock mechanism which bolts around your wheel of the car....

Try park in the garage at home?? If you live with your parents which i assume you do, get them to park infront of your car and park it on the driveway

im not sure, i had nothing valuable showing, its probably casue, my car is there all the time, they know where to find it. Is there such thing as a bigger siren on the alarm so that it will scare them away when the warning beeps go off? What Does my 3point imoboliser do, i have never really cheked that out.

What's with all these attempted thefts in skylines all of a sudden? did all the carjackers have a get together and decide that they'd target our cars now?! ;)

I'm very paranoid about my car now even with the clublock and immobiliser

also, has anyone actually heard of or experienced their car gettin towed away?

Just another thing to be paranoid about! :)

there is one thing u can do. a guys did it in the rs liberty club that i was in before SAU...

When he put his alarm in he installed about 6 sirens all around the car. 2 in the bonnet, 3 inside the car and one in the boot of the car. The ones inside the car were placed 2 under the dash (drivers side) and one under the passangers seat.

this was about a $40k subi so the security had to be good. He left it at a train station one day and caught the train to work, or somewhere. When he got back his window was smashed and the door was unlocked. and one of the shop keepers told him that his alarm had been going off all day. Obvisally he went to the cops and told them what happened they said there wasnt much why could do.

2 days later he got a call from the police saying that there was a guys in hospital that they think broke into his car.

The guy who broke into his car went to hospital 2 days after breaking into his car. Because of the 2 sirens place under the dash on the drivers side, when he was trynig to hot-wire the car both his eardrums burst. If anyone has had their eardrums burst they will know how it feels, it ***n hurts...

So install more sirens. If u cant stop the ***ers deffen them.

P.S. sorry for all the spelling mistakes.

Mustn't have been a smart crook there apleX. You'd think he'd just cut the siren wires, break them off the dash and throw them out of the car before he started trying to hotwire it.

Er, no.

The whole point of putting screamer sirens under/behind the dash is that they are almost impossible to get to especially while going off. The idea is that unlike a siren mounted in the engine bay, you cant just snip the wires or rip off a siren when its mounted behind the dash completely out of reach. Furthermore the best idea is a screamer - try standing near one when its going off let alone being inside a car with it.

that is an idea, but any decent siren has a back-up battery housed within the siren casing so the wires are only for charging the battery and triggering the siren. once it's triggered you can cut all the wires you want it will still be going off.

I think I might also buy a couple of club locks, and modify one so it fits over the clutch, brake, and accelerator and locks them together.

I'm positive I saw something like this (an actual lock made to lock the clutch, brake, and accelerator together) for sale on the uas website years ago... I can't find it anymore though

HA!

My old man did a similar thing a few years back cause he was sick of people breaking into his car at the train station just so they could drive it a street away from thier house at 4 in the morning.

It was costing him heaps because they kept breaking the club locks, or in one case bent the steering column because he put it between the wheel and the brake pedal.

Anyway, being an electrician, he figured out a way to wire a really loud tweeter up under the dash that would only sound if the power to the other alarm was cut. So basically, if you were good enough to stick your head under there to cut the wire for the siren in the engine bay, then you were gunna end up with one hell of a headache from the tweeter. :headspin:

Man, I tell ya though, I'm glad I live in quite ol' Newcastle with you lot suddenly getting every 'line in Sydney broken into.

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
