id go the B4 man but it depends what YOU want...not us

id go it because we've had STi's before as well as had an evo for a few days........the B4 is a nice big car...leather interior, good sound system.....all the goodies :)

but if you didnt need the car right away.....id be hanging out for the Twin Turbo Six STi B4...out in 2005 :)

Edit: add an r33 autech 4 door GTR to that list too :)

yeah i agree about the B4 and its goodies... not bad stuff and same with the price huh!!!!as for the STi B4 u got any piks of it??

im actually leanin towards the B4 or the Stagea 260RS if they ever come out here!!!!

i wish i could get the 4door autech skyline, but i think they were made in limited numbers... so im thinking the price for one of those would be same/if not more than a R33 GTR Vspec/II ......maybe!?!?

Well, I spose it all depends on how much you want to spend..... but I have driven both 2002 STi WRX and B4 and preffered the STi alot more. Thing that pissed me off with the B4 was the auto box, but I think the manual would be way better.

I would say both the EVO and Stagea would be better cars, but higher prices and probably higher insurnace too. With the subes you would get a warranty etc.

Twin turbo not a 100% guarantee for zippiness. Remember B4 is a heavier, more luxurious car & totally a different car to WRX. Motoring magazines keep saying that the sequence of 1st & 2nd turbo in B4 is not that great, too much lag, prob enough time for you to sip a cuppa between boost :). Still not as good as GT-R's or Supra's sequential tt system.

But WRX, different story, can't argue abt its performance, its lighter, so can go faster.

i like the idea the SUBs are bought new and have that manufacturer warranty..... with the other options they will all be 2nd hand.....

the b4 has a better power to weight ratio than the my01/02 wrx....so a subaru dealer told me.

as for the stageas...i think your in for a wait. there are a couple of 260rs's in the country at the moment, but they are unregistered and undergoing testing.

as for the STi B4, its otherwise known as the "Legacy S401..enjoy :)

No. It's a sequential setup, not like the GTR. It's delivers power nice and smooth, not in a rush. The B4 was never intended to go into production racing or street races. The power rating are all the same. It's how the car gets there that's different.

EVO's, never ridden one, but from what I've read about the 6.5 Makkinen, it's a hard ride and better left for the weekends.

Stagera with RB26 = $$$$. There not easy to find and when they are found, it's a nasty surprise to the bank account.

WRX, same $ as EVO but the EVO wins hands down.

If I was after a family car and money is not a problem, Stagera. Family car that's not too hard on the bank, B4. If I'm after hardcore performance, EVO.

Good luck.

I have been in a WRX and a B4 and I must say my impression was that the B4 pulled harder than the WRX. I prefer Liberty's to Impreza's anyday but that's just my pref. I absolutely adore EVO's and if I had the cash, would get either an EVO III or EVO V :(

why do you need 4 doors? family man?

if your not a family man, and your looking at car's of this calibre, what are you waiting for....r32 gtr, 400hp, street built, circuit ready. can pick up a nice one under 30k, 10-20k worth of mods and you'll be a *shitload* in front of any other car on that list.

if you want a 4 door, you seemed pretty cashed up, and you're not a family man and can compromise a little bit of practicality, then there is no question - EVO 5 or above. 5's you cant compliance, 6's you'll have to budget ~50k, 6.5 's budget up to ~55k to get onroad...

if you're family man, after practicality and still want 4 doors and performance then get the WRX (but which model? GC8? getting pretty old now), personally the version 6 STi (for about 40k these days) is a better bang for buck than an version 8 STi at 60k IMHO. 10k of mods on a version 6 and you'll be way infront of the version 8.

everything else IMO is boring as batshit...

Well the Nismo Stagea Autech is basically a GTR wagon and if you got the latest model would cost you almost the same as an R34 GTR. If you can get that you can pretty much sell it and buy the other 3 haha..

From what I've heard the Evo would be the best of the rest.

But if you can get a Nismo Stagea Autech why not just by an E55 AMG sedan second hand. Afterall isn't it the fastest 4 door in the world (production that is) and its a 4 door haha

    • GCG is a good company, they're a major distributor for Garrett in Japan as well.
    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
    • Ok thanks 🙂 I will higly consider this. Any "known" company for a good reviews and experience to send that off? Is that CJ-motor good one? Or go straight to GCG site? I need to use VPN to even find some of those "shops" let alone access them 🙂
    • You can literally put in as much WMI as it takes to quench the combustion totally (and then back it off a little, obviously), and it will keep making more and more power. The power comes from the cooling effect of the water (and the meth) and the extra fuel (the meth, which also has massive octane). It is effectively exactly like running E85. One might be slightly better than the other, but they are damn close. But with either you can lean on the boost or the timing (or both) waaaay more than with just petrol and the results are similar. Here's the first thing I googled for an anecdotal bit of evidence. Can't access the attachment without being a gold member, but it is there for the getting if able to, or searched up elsewise perhaps. https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/general-tuning-discussion/show/wmi-vs-e85/
