Id rather just have to replace the window after a break in then find my car missing

Thats for sure . By the way if you get one of them dont lock it in 5th ( they can drive in 5th no worries ) , lock it in reverse .

Dont mean to be rude guys. But the guys that are in Sydney and have a tracking system give your tracking company a call as my tracker doesnt work outside the metro area. As soon as you get on the F3 just after Hornsby there is no more signal until you get to Newcastle. And heading South I think Wollongong is the limit as well. I only know this as I sold a car with Quiktrak to a guy that lives in Terrigal and he rang them and they told him it was useless to him as there is no coverage there.

Thats quiktrak , they don't have any cover outside sydney at all and its old technology .

The latest trackers use gps to track ( as long as its above ground you can track it ) and gsm to communicate .

With the gps tracker you dont have to pay annual fee you can track your own for the cost of a phone call.

That sounds cool. Much better than the old system.

Does somone know of a anti tow device

These trackers have antitow device , as soon as the car moves a few meters it will call you , give you its location , speed and direction its heading.

We have all our fleet at work tracked using the satellite/ gsm system and it is a wonderful piece of gear.

We have a pc with large hard disk space that was included in the package which we are able to "live track" the vehicles when they are on the road to see there position.

If we dont live track the vehicle, as soon as it returns to base it auto downloads its days events through the aerial we have mounted on the roof of the depot.

In relation to systems that dont get coverage everywhere, we originally had this system years ago and as mentioned dont use satellite technology.

They work ( well ours did) on the old analogue/cdma mobile phone towers and triangulated your postion from the nearest 3 towers hence when in remote/rural areas we lost track of the vehicle.

Just wondering how they drive it in 5th?

My car is stuck in 3rd gear at the moment and I had trouble hill starting (smelt burning clutch heh)..

You cant drive it in 3rd gear ? you got to be kidding !

Do you think the thieves will care if they burn your clutch ? They take the car away then cut the lock when they get their grinder going .....

Lock it in reverse and they cant get far ...

these tracking system's seem almost bullet proof how ever i wonder if its worth getting that system when you have full-insurance!!!

Don't forget you buy insurance just in case you don't want to use it though .

If you have a high performance car stolen it will be hard to get insurance again and if you do can you imagine the price !!!

If its stolen and recovered you are going to be out of pocket as well , most people would have high excess for theft .

Some insurance companies will give you lower premium if you have a tracker , mine will not cover me without it .

    • I read this and thought "ah! I will do this scissor jack on the tow point thing!" I just use my floor/low profile/costco jack and lift the car up by the tow hook itself, then slide jack stands under. Never thought about using scissor into floor jack combo :p
    • Well, my new WMI system took much longer to finalize. I actually missed my dyno appointment last Friday and lost my 150$ deposit. I'll be going back in the next week or two.  To sum it up. I only kept the AEM tank from my old setup. I replaced the AEM pump with a higher flow/pressure ProMeth 30GPH pump. I also swapped over to a 6AN low pressure feed line to the pump from the tank. There's also a pressure switch you cannot see on the pump high pressure line.    This is feeding 6x 200CC direct port nozzles and 1x 500CC Pre Throttle body nozzle. All fittings are Swagelok, because well why not. I also have a 300PSI pressure sensor up front.    I now have my Haltech ECU controlling everything. I start my pump with a basic relay at 5PSI and deadhead it. I then PWM a 3000CC methanol Injector to control flow starting around 10psi. The pressure switch in the trunk, along with my tank level are safeties before I ever get to 10PSI, and then I use my pressure sensor upfront as a secondary safety to cut the WMI and corrections in case the injector blocks or a line ruptures.  Wish me luck on the dyno!
    • So, I'm back with bad news. There's no jack long enough on this planet that will reach the front subframe. If by some chance there is, it would weigh 200lb's.  I purchased a long reach jack... The damn thing weighted 120lb's and was massive. Didn't even come close, was still short at least a foot. It was a pain, but I brought it back. Next I decided HA! No problem, I'll get an Extra long reach jack. Well, I couldn't lift the box... It must have weighed 160LB's and luckily there was an open box in store. I took measurement and was still nowhere close.  Sadly I've lost hope and have accepted defeat.
    • Thanks for that tip, niZmO_Man. I think the battery is OK. It's quite a new one, but I'll check. Last time I needed a new battery, everything electronic was fine, except that there wasn't enough current to turn over the starter. I decided to order one of the partial AV system translation CDs from Car Audio Workshop in NZ. That might have some effect, or help me diagnose the date problem. 🤞
    • I suppose it was relatively stock too, the JZ motor handle most mods thrown at them without even breaking a sweat
