considering adam Q has power fc, big mofo turbo etc etc etc and macka has PHAT turbo also with many other things on both cars, they're making around the 300rwhp, and adam 32 made around 270rwhp with a t04e...I'm skeptical about it

and like gradenko pointed out more than a gtr...someones been fiddling

Gtr read outs will be lower cause its taken at all 4 wheels.

I'm not too sure if thats how it was done at speedworks though.

But I know that at auto saloon, they had a fairly worked GTR 33 on the formaz dyno and it only read 250hp, thats 10 more than what mine read on the same dyno. No way were we that equal.

PSIKO, I wouldn't compare AdamQ's and mackas/adam32s figures with rob77s casue they were all on different dynos. If the figures of the others cars at the dyno day fitted in, I'd put it down to another high reading dyno. But the thing is, all the other cars have reasonable readings (I think), but robs doesn't fit in with them. The title on the bar graph that says "Compensated Power"... reads like compensated for drivetrain loss to me.

Hicks, true enough about 4wd/2wd, but checkout the figure for the other R33 25t that was there.

Not trying to beat you down here rob, just want to help you get a reasonable figure. :D

Bugger. Meracat should be in the 2001cc - 3060cc class then , not 3401cc - 4500cc. So really, they goofed. */me points fingers and passes the blame* :D

The classes, btw, look like they are worked out based on [cc of engine] for N/A and [cc] x 1.5, if forced inducted.

As per my list below, thats all my mods. As per the power output of the GTR vs my GTS25t, I have less drivetrain loss because I'm rwd he's 4wd. Yes you cant compare other dyno readings with mine as they are completely different dyno's. They arnt even the same. The dynapak dyno has the wheels removed and the dyno attached to the wheel hub, the car spins this and it works out the PS figure. As per what grandenko said the class's are worked out on forced induction times 1.5. But as it stands my car on this dyno has 273.5PS @ wheels, might I suggest some or one of you dyno'ing your car @ speedworks as well as to see what happens. Just a note... they found my intercooler, it went to the US instead of here. I wont be going to the drags until its fitted because my intake temps on 0.8bar are too high. The car sounded very rough towards the end of the 2 runs and I think it may have pinged slightly. But once I go I am confident I will run into the 13's, as rev210 has done. He ran twice at 14.3, then dropped his tyre psi to 20 and ran a 13.8 (on lower boost too, due to a hose slipping off).

Hmmm....

It does sound odd.

Here are last years results.

I still beleive these are fairly accurate because I know that PSI are very careful with the compensation factors. Those there may well remember the small presentation we got on it.

Now we have

rev210 aka Dave 188RWHP - pulls 13. 8

Me aka Nexus_Six 218RWHP- -pulls 14.1

Brett aka Evil r33 166RWHP (BUT THEN GOT PFC) pulls 14.5

Chris aka R34 188RWHP Pulled about 14.2? (correct me if needed Chris...)

Mike aka Micko 218RWHP pulled about 13.8? (Good ole Buffy)

Troy aka Skyzerr33 170rwhp pulled 14.01

Now there is a pattern forming here.

Most this cars at this time were mainly standard. Most had exhausts and filters and thats about it.

P:S any others put em forward..

This points to 1 of 2 things.. either 1 dyno is really out... of if Rob77 truely has 270+ HP surely it should be 12-low 13's?

Wiat up waitup!!

This seems correct...

This is "corrected power" not rated power.

Perfect conditions and also counteracts other things that may affect a proper hp reading.

I saw a reading from United Fuel injection not long ago and it had this on the dyno sheet..

Rear wheel horsepower

Corrected Rear wheel horsepower

Engine horsepower..

I didnt check but u might find the other cars have inflated figures too yeah?

Terminal speed is a better indicator for HP...

Rob in all reality, it would be nice to think that our cars are better than they are. Some dynos tell people what they want to hear. As Destroy said "Terminal speed is a better indicator for HP...".

You have run a 1/4 mile, take your terminal speed, get your car wieghed in the same trim as at the strip (with you in it) and this is the only way you will get a truely accurate HP.

To suggest that your car can get 273PS at the treads - when compared to what most people use, ie dyno dynamics is either wishful thinking, or you should be writing letters to nissan 'cos your car is a freak.

You have to get min FMIC, extra boost and management to even think about getting that sort of HP down. And you would know if you were, 'cos your clutch would smoke like a mofo - if its stock, which you should also know

Not meaning to have a go, just no point trying to compare apples to oranges.

Steve

At the end of the day this is what my car has run on a dynapak dyno thats all i'm saying. My clutch is not stock, its a 9 puck metal sprung clutch with a 2500 pound pressure plate. And as i've said before comparing dyno figures to other dyno figures is pointless, unless done on the same dyno and same day its not worth it. Whether my car *really* has 273.5PS @ wheels or not, according to the dynapak dyno it has. I'm sure if I went to a dyno dynamics and rolled the car up i'd get a different figure. You cant compare a dynapak to a dyno dynamics as they use a completely different method. As i've said before as well a dyno is better used to find how much more HP is netted from a modification. I didnt start this thread out to be "my car has more HP than everyone else" i just stated what figure the dynapak dyno read.

    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
