I also use a force feed back seat (yep, I'm a nerd) with 2 aura interactor drivers mounted. One behind the small of the backk and one under the seat. Really enhances the experience. I also intend to get the TrackIR to allow mw to use my head to pan the view.

That sounds like a sweet setup indeed. Man that TrackIR would be handy for this game so you could look out each window to see where cars are when you a passing them. Nerds have the coolest toys :)

quick question before i buy the game... i know the logitech driving force pro is good for the pc as i use it for NFS:HP2 & Porsche challenge...well when i can spare a minute away from GT4, but does GTR have 900 degree support? cause thats when the DFP is in its prime.....

Archie you can set the resolution quite well so it should be fine.

Logitech MOMO racing is my choice though. 270 wheel much like an actual race car. PC only as there are no console stuff in my house.

I'm not sure about the 900deg support but what I do know is I rarely use any more than about 20deg in either direction, maybe 45deg max on hairpin turns. Too much lock in this game = you facing the other direction or understeering straight off the track.

This game also comes with Motec Interpreter software and its the real deal from Motec.(however Motec say they don't support GTR but it works really well) If you have experience with this software, then you will love it for GTR and the amount of data it logs in aiding you to set your car up. About the only thing you can't look at is the ECU mixture map LOL because this is not changeable in the game.

Cheers

haha yeah he goes on to say "...great if you're a gaming revhead, but the sheer pace - and subsequent difficulty tto drive - can put off non-racing enthusiasts. Worth a try, but go easy on the accelerator". heh this last comment is something I learnt the hard way :P

Out of interest, have any of you lot played Grand Prix Legends? (older game 60s F1 cars). If so, which is the harder of the two? I found GPL to be a little too much of a challenge considering I dont have any real racing background, they did say GPL would be the hardest game ever made because they didnt have a good FF system in those days. But I found Sports Car GT a tad easy at times.

Comments would be appreciated, as NFS is losing its appeal. Porshce and hot pursuit 2 that is, neither of the ricey ones.

Dave I was a big GPLer and played online heaps. I even used the FF mod and all the updated graphics. It was, and still is one of the best.

With the FF it is no longer as hard, but still the toughest.

Porsche was interesting but they are just too contrived compared to GPL and GTR.

Find more info for racing online and the V8 mod download at http://www.start.ausorc.com/

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow

    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
