Just thought I'd like to here some opinons on this

Last week my mate was leaving my house as he went round the corner at the bottom of the street his car broke slight traction, didn't even leave a mark or anything

couple of days later cops show up at his work and tell him there taking his car for at least three months, appartantly someone had reported him doing it (if you could even call it an it) with some pissy photo of the faintist mark and even they admitted that it is impossible to match marks with tyres.

So basically it seems that you can report anyone for doing a burnout regardless if they did or didn't aslong as someone has left any kind of mark on the part of the road they can take your car. It's Farken ridiculous

thats just stupid, but still, it has deffinetly crossed my mind reporting people (i live on a main road, and have a corner about 10 metres away) that do burnouts near my house, it does get very very annoying.

although three months for breaking traction and not leaving a mark, thats stupid

LMAO tell em to prove it.

peope used to report me saying i was doing burnouts and flying up and down my street all the time

cops came down and all i said was if you can prove it take me away and lock me up.

never heard from em again

Yeah unfortunatly operation hoon is in full effect! Anything as much as a car reving out can be reported and you can lose the car!

It is discrimination like we have never seen since the days of segregation. It must of been you because your young and own a fast car...no proof needed.

I know this has been happening recently to others. Proof isnt as important as it should be.

That is soo Fu(ked!

Yea, if your out at Hume doin fu(ken donuts, Draggin down Federal highway.. fair enough..

Doin lil Squealies.. Fu(ken Stupid!

Early mornings when the tyres are cold on my car... its all over the joint...

Slight acc around an intersection, then im controling the ass of the car for the rest of the way....

Crazy!

Acceptable if it it a full on burnout... but stupid

    :(  :)  :D

Or would that be "Falken ridiculous"...groan...

Seriously;I'd get my solicitor straight on the phone whilst the cops stood there.

If he was guity of actually doing a burnout, maybe he might give the car up without a fight, but if some pastel-wearing,curtain-peering,weak-spined,neighbourhood-watching,vindictive wombat hasn't got the you-know-whats to do anything but finger point, and it was nothing more, honestly, than tyres breaking slight traction(and would you back this up for your mate?Your word against numbnuts and the Police)that this was the case. THEN I'd tell 'em,in no uncertain terms,to kiss my butt and stop wasting the taxpayers dollar and my time...

There;rant over!

you guys are going about this the whole wrong way, trying to fight it in court may get you off but whos to say it wont happen to you again and again

if you want this to stop all you have to do is abuse the system all you have to do is choke them up with so many false reports that that its just not worth there time to investigate them all, just dob in evey middle aged wanker who thinks he owns a race car, just wait till you see one of them give it a bit of stick and call the cops saying their wheel broke traction and now your scared to drive your own car for fear of death from a performance vehicle slaming into you while atempting to drift around a corner. when we all know you are more likly to get taken out buy a soccer mum in here four wheel drive who didnt see the red light

just my two cent but trust me if enough of those sort of ridiculous claims are made it will all go away pretty soon

I suspect you would need to leave you contact details should the cops require your statement in the event of the accused going to court.

And when it becomes obvious that the 80yr olds FWD barina isnt capable of doing rearwheel burnouts they would come after you for wasting police time.

Loose loose

I reckon AJ should of called a solicitor str8 away. ANY legal costs are better than not having a car, especially a skyline. Its all these little P-plater 17/18 yearold shits in old commodores, falcons and other shitty cars who dont care about their tyers and cars doing line lockers and hooning around who are making it hard for people who drive decent cars and hardly ever break traction but may have ceramic/brass-button clutches, or powerful cars that somtimes "chirp" around corners or when taking off. If these litte shits get their cars impounded they dont really care, they can just go and buy another Shitheap for 200 bucks. SO the cops and trouble-making conservative middle aged C**TS pick on the nice looking cars. I agree with Shaun: choke up the system with reports of "Hooning" middle aged di*kheads. And every one be hell-carefull when driving and give imports a good name. Save it for wakefield :)

For the cops to turn up, someone has already agreed to appear in court as a witness. It you say you are going to contest it, they MIGHT lose interest in the whole process... but they try it because in most cases the people accept the charges and pay up. However - at the end of the day, it is your and your friends word against the unknown witness, with (probably) no physical evidence.

Ther other thing is. The cops just dont go around and consficate anything that anyone tells them is doing the wrong thing.

As part of the burnout rules, they compile evidence against the suspect UNTIL they have enough to do something about it. This includes community complaints, undercover cops cruising at braddon, hume or wherever just to gather intel, ie number plates, mod's etc. Then once your number comes up a few times more than normal, thats when they should/would pay you a visit.

It is just like any other sort of investigation. If it was a simple case of a person calling to complain, society would turn on itself and havoc wouldnt be too far away.

Just because you dont know whats happening behind the scenes, doesnt mean they do not have a file with your name on it. Id tell your mate to have a good long think about his past actions over the last few months. Where has he been, what has he been doing.

Cops aint idiots, nor are the tools they use to get people.

After inquiring about going straight to court he has been told that he will recieve a summons hopefully to get in at the end of this month if they can squezze it if not he will have to wait atleast three months to even get to court. It's amazing how quick you can get to court for a drink driving offence but when you need something done quick, it all about how booked they are and the oh we might be able to fit you in but you may have to wait...

Did anyone read the story's in the chronical about burnouts and people have a whing about it i think that had alot to do with these new laws. We should try and somehow get a story posted from the performance car side of things! and how it's descrimination because you car has an exhaust and gets attention your a hoon and of course you must of been doing something illegal. I hate people

The cops that spoke to him said they couldn't match the mark but aslong as there was a mark there they could get him, now as for alot of complaints he'd only owned the car for just over a week now seriously how much can you get reported in a week. Now as for the details of the car because he was later parked at my house again the guy that reported him came up and snopped around his car and got the details that way. Farcken Neighbours they even told the cops we were having a house warming party. No privacy

    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
    • Ok, disregard my “rate them” comment, sorry for my unrealistic input
