I went to Harbat erlier in the week, seems every 2nd car has chromes on it

I dont mind a car that has a decent set of wheels on it because in my opinion a good set of wheels makes a car. However when people decide to stick GT wings and crazy bodykits that really just scream of rice boy then that annoys me!

I really cannot stand holden commodore or Ford drivers. The newer model drivers are fine but the older model drivers act like real morons on the road and it's no wonder they're lowering the speed limits due to these hacks.

Back when I had my Lancer they would always try and get me revved up to have a drag race at the lights. I would always just sit there with a silly look on my face trying to reflect the "get a life you idiot" look to them.

Hmm yes end of rant, lol.

I nice set a rims on a a rust bucket doesn't make it a good car........say you put a set of brand new set of 18'simmons on a rusted out, dented, broken tail lights, standard ride height gemini (sorry if anyone owns a nice neat gemin) doesn't make it cool or any faster just makes it look stupid!

Agreed. I wasn't really thinking along those lines because I dont think anyone who owns such a bummy vehicle could afford such tasty mags. I'm thinking of the few cars that get about that dont try and pretend to be something they're not...but just have a nice set of mags on to make it look presentable.

but you can always take a neat car and slap a set or over cromed wheels on in in a huge size and it could look so stupid (bubble barinas with 18 inch mags)!

That's true it all comes down to taste. That's why a "good" set of wheels make a car in my opinion. I'm not saying a good set has to be chrome either.

hhmm, i think Yellow skylines owned by pizza store ppl, haha just playin

i would have to say OLDER cars with Exterior mods that are supposed to make the car look newer oh and faster. eg gemini with 5 spoke rims hahaha funny ppl

ppl are starting to generlise on this post (me included) i reckon get back to baggin specific cars personally but hey im full of sh*t!

lata

how true. tiny 'mums' cars with huge rims have to shit you to tears especially when they think a set of rims make it faster. hahaha.

The only reason it'd be faster would be due to speedo error from incorrect wheel size!

I can think of better things to spend my money on than rims. $2k+ fr wheels, give me performance mods any day of the week. I dont care how fast a set of wheels make my car look :werd:

Whats wrong with a hotted up gemmi??? Lol! everything!!!

sad thing is there is so many old bombs getting round with rims worth 5 times the car... i see it every day cos the Housing Commission building is opposite my work and they all pull up in their XF and VK commo's with loud zorsts not a single panel the same colour or with out a dent but with big rims and fat tyres. Shaz, Keithy and the kids Jaydon, Shapelle (sorry to any fans) and Shaniah all in the car with their big dog (which eats better than them) and Shaz smokes a pack of smokes while waiting for Keithy to come back out without having to pay their susidised rent cos they reckon they have no money.

not baggin out VK's with simmons are we timmy? LOL, my opinion, a set of nice wheels on a straight car turns heads. And i own a old car but would never put a new style wheel on my car, Blue HJ panel with like 17" five spokes, bad! :uh-huh:

Exactly what I was trying to say too!

I saw that excel with all the stickers down the doors last night and I saw a for sale sign on it! it was sooooooooo cool I wonder why he is selling it???????

Proably has been reading all this and realised :chairshot

i resent the commo abuse

i drive a white VH Commodore, its only got 15" ROH alloys and standard tyres. And im pretty far off being a DAZZA!. But i aggree, and hate the wankers in the VK's and VL's that try and drag me everytime i pull up at the lights. Im aiming at getting a nice R31 at some point, but for now im pov and drive my commy, with my p-plates up....

I hate little ricers in thier corolla's and stuff, with the cannons, body kits and 17" rims, it is verry sad... Its different thow if its a girl and doesnt have wanky rice... like that Yellow pulsar getting around with the blue rimmed mags, she's a mate of mine, and it doesnt look tooo bad.

haha the poor bugger. I mean really how would you feel if you saw that your pride and dream was being bagged out by people you didn't even know knew of your car!

hahaha...it's hilarious!

Yeah bit of a :chairshot to the owner.

But maybe he just got a reality check and decided to buy something else...

You never know he might be going to get a fully sick bombadoore :jump:

I recon to much HP, those Alpine stickers must give him adleast 100hp each at the wheels.

    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
    • Onto the android unit. You need to remove the top screen because there is a daughterboard to put inside the case. Each side vent pops out from clips; start at the bottom and carefully remove upwards (use a trim remover tool to avoid breaking anything). Then the lower screen and controls come out, 4 screws, a couple of clips (including 3 flimsy ones at the top) and 3 plugs on the rear. Then the upper screen, 4 screws and a bunch of plugs and she is out. From there, remove the mounting brackets (2 screws each), 4 screws on the rear, 2 screws top and bottom and 3 screws holding in the small plates on each side. When you remove the back cover (tight fit), watch out for the power cable for the fan, I removed it so I could put the back aside. The mainboard is held in by 1 screw in the middle, 1 aerial at the top and 3 ribbon cables. If you've ever done any laptop stuff the ribbon cables are OK to work with, just pop up the retainer and they slide out. If you are not familiar just grab a 12 year old from an iphone factory, they will know how it works The case should now look like this:
    • Switching the console was tricky. First there were 6 screws to remove, and also the little adapter loom and its screws had to come out. Also don't forget to remove the 2 screws holding the central locking receiver. Then there are 4 clips on either side....these were very tight in this case and needed careful persuading with a long flat screw driver....some force required but not enough to break them...this was probably the fiddliest part of the whole job. In my case I needed both the wiring loom and the central locking receiver module to swap across to the new one. That was it for the console, so "assembly is the reverse of disassembly"
