I put in $40 last week on wednesday, and i have gotten 320kms out of the tank and i have just under a 1/4 of it left, giving it a thrashing maybe 5times odd a day...

Pretty good, considering i only put unleaded in too... Then again im NA

However i used to only get 220-230kms MAX out of a tank when running premium, until i changed my o2 sensor.

I found Shell Optimax gives better economy then BP Ultimate does. I'm happily using that now, it's right next to where i work so it's convenient too.

are you serious i am the opposite i cant stand opticrapz was crap in the pulsar and crap in the skyline... my cars just dont seem to like the stuff.

I didn't notice any difference. It used to make the exhaust smell but it doesn't anymore. I've heard people say that BP Ultimate and Optimax often comes from the same refinery and they just put in different additives. Either way, i'm not having any problems with it

i found that both cars got around about 20 - 40 kms less with similar driving with both ultimate and opticrapz. Also it may just be in my head by the skyline also doesnt feel as though it has as much power with opticrapz could just be me and probably is but meh i go with what makes me and the car happy :(

i just filled up after doing 430k's and got 50l's in it..

so should i still have 10l's left in the tank?

seems like i got a few k's outta 50l's when iv had a few drags and given it a bit the last few days

yea thats pretty good i generally get about 410 - 430 off of 48 - 53 litres and i am happy with that. also yes that does mean you have another 10L's left. I can drive around with the orange light on for a good 50 - 60kms and still only be at 55 - 58L

Orange light? Why dont I have an orange light?

lol either

1 - you are not running it low enough how many L's do you normally put in stevie.

2 - your fuel level gauge may be broken. I am not sure exactly which light it is on the cluster but its one of the ones on the left hand side. just go look during the day and you will know which one should light up

Should be near the "E" of the gauge, just out of the sweep of the needle

Well i've run it down pretty low! I bet the warning light has just blown or something pathetic like that. I want a warning light!

I usually put in about 50. And thats when the gauge is reading very empty. I know its a 60L tank so maybe my gauge is reading it empty ten litres to early??? I dont know...

i'm only getting 360km out of a 60L tank.

Term, I've found out that my Stagea goes through the petrol with short trips and city driving. But on the highway it's fine.

I think it's cause of the auto box and short trips when cold (cold = rich).

I wonder if you could put gas on one of these.. lol

    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
    • 310mm rotors will be avilable from Australia, Japan, and probably a few other places. Nothing for the front can be put on the back.
    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
    • Just like in being 14mm too small (296mm) makes it not fit, being 14mm too big (324mm) it also won't fit. You want to find the correct rotor.
    • @GTSBoy Ok so that was the shops problem...they showed R33 rotors on R34 page and i did not know 296 do not fit(and are for R33) Yes i bought "kit" with rotors and pads. Pads are ok(i have GTT calipers front and rear). They have some 324mm but no 310mm. So i dont know if they would fit. I have 17inch LMGT4s So another question. Can i fit those in the rear or they are just "too" big for that?
