sigsputnik
hey all, i'm going for rego on friday - 1989 r32 gtst. my problem is this - it has 17" Skyline GTT rims on it, but the tyre placard says 16". For some reason, the engineer wouldn't engineer them (no idea why). i'm not sure if they'll care as it's 15yo and they have the same rolling diameter. i guess one way out would be to have some 16" rims for rego - would anyone have a set i could borrow for friday? any ideas? any input at all would be *great*. sigi Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/73882-anyone-have-some-stock-r32-wheels-i-could-borrow/ Share on other sites
Cristian
the wheels you have on the car are only 1 inch bigger then standard so you shouldnt even need an engineers cert for that. the last i heard was that you were able to have upto 2 sizes bigger then standard Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/73882-anyone-have-some-stock-r32-wheels-i-could-borrow/#findComment-1356915 Share on other sites
race_snooze
it all depends on if you change the total rolling diameter of the wheel by 2 inches so 20" with 10 profile tyres still fit well they dont really make them Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/73882-anyone-have-some-stock-r32-wheels-i-could-borrow/#findComment-1356982 Share on other sites

PhantomS14
As far as I can remember in the ACT you are allowed to run a wheel 2 inches bigger than the biggest standard wheel available on your car as long as you use a profile on the tyres that keeps it pretty much in line with the original overall rolling diameter. Anything else would need to be engineered. You should be right unless they want to be asses when you take your car over.
